Which file contains the throttle information for an engine?

Unread postby LionelDave » Mon Jun 13, 2016 2:12 pm

I'm running in "Simple Controls" and have found several engines which do NOT work in simple control? (UP's EMD SW10 for one)

Either the "A" key and "D" key do NOT move the slider speed control or the slider speed control does NOT even show up when playing the game.

I'm thinking that I could swap out the file that contains these non working controls with a similar engine that has these controls working.

Does anyone know which file I need to swap out?

Before anyone asks. After several nerve racking years of running in expert mode I find I like the simple control much better.

If there is another way to do this please let me know.

Any help or comments would be appreciated .

Dave

PS: I do not like to use the slider because my hand eye coordination is not anywhere near to the control I can get with the keyboard

I think that would be the .bins in the "Engine" folders.

The Engine bin has all the controls and cab animations for the controls and have calls also the inputmapper, which has the keystroke definitions to control the loco with only the keyboard. In many cases these controls have some scripting in .out scripts which are compiled and therefore can not be changed.

Thanks for the information guys.

since .bin files are beyond me. I'll have to live without some very desirable steam engines. *!sad!*
