Unread postby glenn68 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 4:04 pm

Good Afternoon,
Why is it that some locomotives will only have idol sound after the lead locomotive?

Thanks,

it is the default that came with the game but all new locos that come out now have multi unit sound aslong as they use the newer files. someone should make a mod so that it is on every loco. maby it will be an update for RW from RW.com

The P&LE Gp38's and GP7's have multiple sounds in multiple unit consist. I would assume the origional GP38 and GP7's has this too.

I don't have any of the Geep's, but I do have the SD70Ace and as far as I remember all the loco's in a multi unit lashup do throttle up. Dash 9's, no. F7's, no. What has always puzzled me is the AI locomotives all sound like they are throttled up, but not my consist. !*don-know!*

If it is an SD40-2 as a helper in our consists,I know what the problem is. An old tried and true EMD problem; load regulator failed to load!

Dash 9's have MU sounds, at least on the head end. Or atleast it sounds the same as the SD70ACe.

I did not mean that the SD70ACe's sound the same as the GE's. I put it the wrong way, sorry. I meant that by the sound volume of standing trackside as a train passes, MU'ed SD70ACe's and Dash 9's have the same doppler effect as they pass. That is what is leading me to believe that the Dash 9's all have sound when MU'ed. Should have worded it a lot better. Since we are kind of on the same topic, I put up a post about the sound of the SD70ACe's cab sould level at idle. Way too loud even in notch 1. Is there a way to cure that?

I tried GP-38's last night, they don't throttle up together. That really doesn't surprise me since RSC didn't make the 38. I've looked in all the folder for the SD70, and really find what's making them throttle together. I suppose any new release will have that feature, sure hope they do it to the ES series. The most common one I see now are SD70, ES44,GF43, not so common,SD90,CW44.

So that would cover the Wide Nose and High Nose? Neither of those have MU sounds either. Not even on Rich Garber's routes. Guess he can't fix everything, eh? *!!wink!!*
