Another route question

Unread postby SAR704 » Tue Mar 15, 2016 3:57 am

I know that DTG and the other payware developers try to build the most appealing routes for the market. However, something I'd be interested in is a route which is prototypical, but reasonably flat, with no prolific landmarks, preferably set in the 1950s or 60s, serving small villages/towns. It can be arid, but doesn't have to be. I'm not looking for something like Feather River Canyon/similar stuff with tunnels, mountainous terrain etc. Just something moderate.

Does anyone know of any routes fitting this criteria? The scenery doesn't have to be spectacular either.

There was this MSTS route which I used probably around a decade ago, which was in a desert setting, basically like a continuous mainline, with very few towns etc. I don't remember the name, but I'm looking for something like this for TS2016

Was it the Full Bucket Line? I loved that route, it was huge!

Adriana County would be the one that comes to mind for me. But it's a freelanced route and is like a regional/shortline setting. But when you mention the 50's and 60's, the RWA route comes to mind, but I know nothing about it other than it looks great from the screen shots.

+1

I would love a route that included the Fostoria, OH crossing. Something somewhat ambitious would be from Findlay to Bellvue, OH.
Nice route with industries, great for modern or the 50s (NKP territory).

I would also love a "boring" Mojave desert route, flat, but in any case, with grades not higher than 1%. Needles sub would be Ok.

No it wasn't the FBL. I think it may have been prototypical, but I don't recall there being many if any towns in it. It was probably made in about 2003.

It's almost as hard to identify as an old racing game I remember playing in the early 2000s or even late 1990s that I've been trying to identify for ages. I just remember it having 3 different environments/sections whatever and the last one being set in some snowy area I think. Strangely, I identified Stunts (1990 DOS game) before this one. But since this is a Railworks forum, I won't go into it too much.
