Verify Integrity of Game Cache

I am not positive what to do with this to verify integrity of game cache. I had no problem with first part to run but at the end of verify. I got the message below:

Validating Steam files -- 100% complete

1371 files failed to validate
and will be reacquired.

Now I wonder what I suppose to after verify. Exit Steam and sign in again or restart Steam. Also if I should restart Steam and what steps do I have to take to restart Steam so all 1371 files will be reacquired.

After the verify Steam should automatically download the files. Click on the library tab and in the drop down menu select downloads at the bottom and the download window will show. If nothing is downloading just wait a few minutes and it should start.

Also, after it's finished it is a good idea to do it again, because sometimes some files are not successfully reacquired.

Chacal -- that's exactly what I did with your suggestion and it works to download the missing files.
