Creating order out of chaos ....

... on the Quick Drive locomotive selection screen.

After careful editing of almost all quick drive consists in the PreLoad folders I have managed to reduce the selection to 11 screens.
Each locomotive now appears only once, and different road names or paint schemes appear only when I select that loco from the list of Consists.

However, some locos stubbornly refuse to list under their brand. !*hp*!

More importantly, the Quick Drive "Customize your experience" screen with the large pictures does not appear to be sorted in any way.
I'd like to get the locos in alphabetical order, ALCo, Baldwin, EMD, GE, etc.

Deleting the RVDBCache (Rail Vehicle DataBase) files from the Content folder re-creates the database on the next game start. I presume this database is the one that supplies the Quick Drive screens.
Any ideas or a possible solution?

Does the small search box work? I never get any search results ... !**conf**!

Do you have a couple of examples of the ones that won't list under their brand names?

I believe it is the ones that don't come with a default Quick Drive scenario, i.e. those that don't have an entry in the PreLoad folder. I have previously removed all UK and European DLC from my USA install, so it should contain US locomotives and cab cars only.

I think when the database is compiled (you can see it running on the start screen - first scenario database, second rail vehicle database), when there is no PreLoad folder, the game manager looks in the actual asset folders and picks up a line from the engine.bin. One shouldn't forget to issue a clear cache command to delete all .pak files before database recreation probably.

I first thought it were those QD consists that I've created myself as you'll need to carefully fill in the fields in RW_Tools so the system is maintained. But there is only one field offered after Custom Creation.
And these consist go into the ConsistTemplates.bin file.

More annoying for easy selection is the unsortedness (?) of the large loco icons.
