NJT NJCL Freight Lines?

Just bought the North Jersey Coast Line on sale. Gorgeous - NEC NY-New Haven style gorgeous. Please advise which lines would service the portion of the route running off of the Amtrak NEC down to Bayhead. I'm guessing CSX and/or NS. Is that correct? Any others?

Thanks.

Al

I believe there is a freight line that branches off at Red Bank, and another one just north of South Amboy by the Raritan River.

UP doesn't operate I'm New Jersey. You might see some of their power running through, but that's about it.

Excellent. Right on target and much appreciated. For once, I guessed right re CSX and NS. Very informative article.

As for UP, well, my very first venture into the NJCL scenario editor to look at the "pre-loaded" rolling stock, I was shocked to see the UP auto van among the very few freight cars listed. I've since brought in other cars in other road names as well.

Looks like interesting freight ops. lie ahead on this beautiful route, IF the doggone route doesn't crash in the editors. Even with my fairly beefy computer specs, the editors are somewhat sluggish loading. Things run mostly OK in Drive with occasional stuttering here and there.

Thanks very much for all your replies.

Al

The Physical Corporate Union Pacific does not own trackage on the east coast. what you are seeing is run through power on either CSX or NS.
