Which Picture Is More Realistic?

Unread postby FHRob » Sun Nov 22, 2015 7:22 pm

These are two screenshots from Donner Pass, near Reno.

Both are winter, cloudy.

Screenshot #1 is standard cloudy, screenshot #2 is 3D cloudy.

Which one is the more realistic representation of actual weather in the Reno area?

Rob :D

I think 2 is a winner, but not a clear winner. Somehow it still looks digital. I guess its the snow and me being able to detect sim pictures. Here is a recent picture i took on the Edensvale route. I think its the floral stuff and the amount of stuff in the picture is what makes it look much more realistic.

Personally I find all of the 3d clouds lack a definitive shape, unlike real life.

You get that in any game/sim. Take a look at FSX.
