Coupla noob questions about TS2016
Hi all,
My first post and a short introduction. I've been an MSTS user since about 2008 and have dozens of routes and thousands of pieces of rolling stock. I learned how to edit routes and rolling stock, alias sounds to a fare-thee-well, etc. When Railworks first came out I bought the discs and tried it out; I noticed how close in many ways it was to the controls I was used to in MSTS (which makes sense since both were developed by the same outfit), but put it away because I was then still on the upward swing of the MSTS learning curve.
Fast forward to today: I just loaded Steam again (I had subscribed to that a few years ago but let it too slide in favor of MSTS) and fired up TS2016 and was very impressed. I had been led to believe that the physics were atrocious in RW, and doing a few scenarios in the NEC route with an AEM7 customized with Fan Railer's files proved this theory wrong. Then I tried an ES44AC scenario on Cajon Pass and it too responded quite realistically. I have to laugh when I hear people apologize for the mid-to-late 2000's graphics engine in TS/Railworks; it might not be Bioshock but by gosh it's a whole helluva lot better than MSTS ... or even MSTS played in ORTS!
At any rate, I've downloaded some mods for both routes (I recommend Fan Railer's NEC track stability mod), have installed Krellnut's sounds (fabulous), but am wondering if there is a mod that updates the default rolling stock with actual prototypical skins rather than suffer with those generic paint jobs and no logos!! Something that I could just install and it would overwrite the generic stock skins with NS, CSX, etc.
Cheers,
Dave
