custom QD packaging question

Unread postby Mavadelo » Wed Oct 21, 2015 1:04 pm

Hi all

I am planning to submit my first reskin (the Minion Pacific) for download through RWA. I do however have one slight isse left before I am ready
My package will contain a reskin for the GTEL and 2 for the boxcars, it includes a scenario as well. However to make it complete I would like to add a QD consist as well. I already have the consist made. How do I go about to get it in the package and have it displaying the "correct" name. Now it is listen in my QD as UP and that should of course be MP !*don-know!*
Any tips, tutorials or videos out there that I have failed to find? Or better even, any of you fine people can direct me in the proper way? !!*ok*!!

Thanks in advance *!!thnx!!*

Actually there's another slight issue you should resolve before packaging: "Banana's"

On the box car.
Should be "Bananas".
Not "Banana's".

I am afraid the intention may be an slogan more than the car contents. *!!wink!!*

ah... several reasons for that and I ain't gonna change it :)
Minions are notorious bad spellers, they actually never talk about bananas in plural, 1 banana, 2 banana, 3 banana is what they do
Minions are notorious bad listeners as well, told them several times but they insisted on the ' being there as they thought it looked like a banana !*roll-laugh*!

as for myself, thanks for the correction, it is a bad habit I developed. Actually no idea how and why but it is something I seem to do more often then not. Perhaps because it is something often done in Dutch

To answer your question about the QD, rather than "teach" the whole thing, I recommend that you clone another QD consist and fragments, understand them, and then adapt them for your own purposes with appropriate revised names.

That's how I learned it, and it's a much more effective way of learning (and remembering) , and not that difficult once you see it

I actually tried that but I guess I did it wrong as the first try crashed my game (found why that happened quickly as I forgot to change some d: id number) the second try no crash but no QD consist. Will check out some of the downloads here as they might be a better example then the original bins :)
