My first stupid question

I am new to RW, having used MSTS for 9 years and have produced a number of freeware routes for it.
My question is this. I have downloaded a few items from this site and from Otto's site, but there are no
instructions given for installing these items. Has anyone produced a tutorial or white paper, on how to
install objects, or whole routes, obtained through this or another site.

I would assume that you use the packager tool, but have no real idea?

Hi, there usually is a readme, it is either a .doc file or .txt

If the file is a .rwp or .rpk, you can install the file through the "Package Manager" in the tabs on the RailWorks 2 screen (The one with the advertisements)

No offense Alex, but this seems a little thin for a noob. Click on package manager, then over on the right side you'll see a install button. I usually put the rwp file on my desk top where it's easy to find. Brows to it and then when you click on it you should see a green bar while it's loading. When it's finished I always close the program, restart and go to the tools and docs tab after the restart and clear the cache. Your new route or asset or whatever should now be ready to use.

Thanks. I'm a "noob" as far as RW is concerned, but have used MSTS for several years. Once I get the hang
of RW, I plan to do some rehashes of my earlier MSTS routes in RW, i.e. the Kingsport and BlueRidge subs.
of CSX.

One of the items I downloaded (from Otto's site) was the CSX Mainline materials. As for other possible routes,
I have the engineering data for the MRS Logistica, which a ore hauler in Brazil. I am retired from CSX, now
almost 10 years, but I haven't quit yet and so I work for a signal contractor. We just were awarded the
Brazil contract and I did the CAD drafting for the initial designs. A office will be opened in Brazil to handle
most of that work as our office here in Jacksonville does a large amount of CSX work and some NS.

I'm sure that I will have other stupid questions. I have downloaded ReDem and will pay for a license for
that as when I did a test route last year (CliftonForge to Hinton) I was not impressed with the low
resolution terrain.

I have RWtools, and plan to pay the ticket for the decal item. Mike Simpson recommended it to me
sometime ago and I have played with it in the demo version.
