Why is the speed drop and brake increase for no reason?

I noticed a few times that with any scenarios and routes too that the speed of the player drop to 0 and brake increase to 84 percent. Why is that happening? I was comfortable simulating with the player train within the speed limit and stay on the same speed for a good few minutes and all of sudden with the player train drop to 0 and the train brake increase to 84%. Can I change that in Options similar to Microsoft Train Simulator or Open Rails?
Let me know about this so I will try to avoid this again.

You are going to have to be more specific with some details on this problem. Firstly, what routes, locomotives, or scenarios does this happen on?
Could this be the alerter or 'dead man switch' activating the brake? That is only on some passenger locomotives to my knowledge.

Sorry that I did not reply sooner anyway this is not happen to one route or one scenario. More likely is with me -- inexperienced locomotive engineer. I am very new to this simulation and learn a lot but still a long way to go before get more familiar with this simulation, Train Simulator 2016.

Push Ctrl + d and it will disable the auto brake.
