I purchased Railworks 6 months ago but since I was so used to MSTS I really became fustrated at RW. Slowly my interest in RW grew and now I have some time to actually to learn. There is actually some good tutorials on YouTube and I am greatly appreciated for the information. Slowly I am learing but what really inspired me to go back to RW is the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie route. My Grandfather, Uncle and Aunt retired from the P&LE. I am really looking forward to RW and I hope to find more support in the future. I have to admit having the steam account is a big plus. My windows becam corrupted and since I purchased RW at steam I was still able to go back and pick up the sim.

Welcome aboard Glenn. Yea Steam is good. I buy from them whenever possible.

Railworks is getting better all the time. People are creating routes and making objects more and more. There is some really good stuff out there if you look for it. For me the payware items are not to expensive compared to other hobbies, fishing, hunting, photography, etc. And the people here are very helpful if you just ask.

I agree that RW is really expanding. I do plan to purchase more in the future.

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. Being a former MSTS user myself and having been so accustomed to it, I too had the same frustration when I switched over to RailWorks predecessor, Rail Simulator when it first came out. (Have since upgraded to RW). Although the keyboard commands for driving were similar to MSTS, I had no clue about anything else, such as editing/creating scenarios etc. Had to "go back to school" so to speak, and start all over memorizing new key commands, what boxes to check/uncheck in the editor, what icons to click on and what they do, left-click this, right-click that, etc.

Once you do learn it, you will find that RW is actually quite easy to use and very enjoyable. And it's getting better and better!

I am playing with simple free roam scenerio's and learning at the same time. Right now I have a 14 car consist running on the P&LE line with one of the Family lines gp9's from Connelsville Pa towards Mckees Rocks.

Got to love it!
