Question about resolution

Unread postby BigBoyMoon » Wed Jul 22, 2015 1:13 am

One of my friends can't get his game to work, his monitor is 1280x1024 and he keeps getting an "Not Supported" message when trying to play. Would anyone have a screenshot/video of what to do?

I may not be the smartest light bulb in the pack but I thought that was a Graphics Card issue !*don-know!*

He just needs to pick up from the graphic options the resolution that more closely matches his screen size.
And play in windowed mode, of course.

Is the monitor a LCD/LED or an old CRT. LCD/LED monitors have a native resolution refresh rate. If one of these find out what it is. If the monitor is not put into its native resolution refresh rate you will always get the message.

The big problem is the game won't launch, his screen changes to a "not supported" message

He said it's an LED/LCD. Should he get a new monitor?

Look on the back of the monitor and it should have the model number.

My girlfriends old comp had a similar problem (1280x1024 monitor) I played TS on it with lowered graphics settings ok, then I updated AMD driver to I believe was version 14.1 . TS would start in background but monitor would show out of range on screen, had to lower res in TS to make it run properly, think I used 1280x960. In the end I went back to previous AMD driver and I could use 1280x1024 again.
