Auran just released their Train Simulator "Trainz" on the iPad ( http://www.trainzmobile.com )
Does anyone know if Rail Simulator is planned to release on the iPad?

What would be the purpose of a Railworks for iPad?
No insult, but I think this would be a bad idea. !*salute*!

I can't see scaling down RW for a tablet PC. Tablets don't have the processing power, RAM or screen size. Heck, I already want a bigger screen than this "little" 21" LCD that I have.

As for what would be the purpose? That's easy. $$$$$$$$ The whole iPad thing is the new marketing niche. Trainz is not selling as well as RW. If they can make it work, more power to them.

I am thinking of buying up stock in optical supply industries and lasik surgery clinics over the next 20 years. They are going to be the "hottest" products around for the kids of this generation of size 0 fonts.

Hmmm... can't decide if that deserves a smiley or a frown....

Perhaps the new line of stand-alone routes might be the more likely candidate for porting to the iPad.

Cool idea... broadening the customer base and tapping another stream of revenue. I have a couple of Nintendo playing friends that would likely give this a try but would never buy Railworks (or even a pc).

I have Trainz for the IPad it is really stripped down no docs only 1 tutorial 3 routes with about 8 sessions. I bought it for $8.00, ironically more then I paid for RW2.

It does have a lot of good points that far out weight the limited content. Like the route editor is fully compatible with the route editor for TS2010. So you can work on your route while waiting for GF or Wife at Wallmart... LOL

(Note I have never been able to test this supposed compatiblty with TS2010 since I can't get it to run on my machine).

But it is a nice editor on the IPad. Being able to take my trains with me wherever I go is the biggest draw for me I guess I'm not sorry I bought it at all.

Auran is promising updates and new content on a regular basis I guess we'll see about that....

After rereading this I should note that anything made in the Editor stays on your iPad and thus you can at least drive and test the route on that...

Hope this helps
