Hi! 3D Trains has come out with 2 new tracks, in addition to their previous releases. Which track would be most appropriate for this route seeing as I'm duplicating UP and SP routes dated within the past 10 years. I'm not sure yet that I'm going to do the conversion seeing as there are draw-backs. Any comments please? Cheers; Chuck F.

Honestly at the Niles/Fremont area, the ballast does look any different from after UP took over, but I a beginning to think that SP didn't use the same rock for all parts of their line.

IIRC, the ballast is a bit lighter than the darker west-coast SP, so you should be fine if you use the default ScaleRail textures. I would have to see a picture from the area to know for sure, however.

Hi!, and thanks for the replies. If someone could direct me to a good tutorial on how this is actually done, I would be most grateful. Cheers; Chuck F.

As far as I understand you want to change the trackrules in your existing route? I've written something for that a while ago here:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1119&p=7699 - You only would have to find out the correct paths for the new one if you want to use the 3DTrains ones.
Hope it helps

HiToldrabald! Thanks for posting with this info. I'll give this a try. All the track for my route has been laid, so I'll have to see just how big a job this really is.
