FL-9 Selector Switch - Need Further Explanation

Unread postby FHRob » Thu Jun 11, 2015 2:20 pm

I understand how the selector is used to switch between electric and diesel.

However, the instruction book fails to explain about positions 1 - 4. What does each one do, and does it actually work?

According to the FL9 operating manual from 1957, the selector lever is used to manually transition units not equipped with automatic transition.

What is meant by "automatic & manual transition"?

It has to do with the electronic transition of the traction motors.

And since transition has not, to my knowledge, been modeled in Railworks, you shouldn't worry about positions 1-4.
