Railworks America

I've found a couple of curves on VNHRR that are a little to tight for the Berkshire.
It there easy way to widen these curves without breaking the track ribbon and all that ???

Somewhere in here there is a thread about how to make the berk less inclined to derail. It's a better fix. If you can't find it holler and I'll see if I can locate it.

I'll find it.

I set it to "0" but it doesn't help.
Looks like to me the tender is turning into the side of the cab and picking up the rear of the engine and throwing it off.
Who knows. Anyway, got all the nice pickup / dropoff spurs and can't get to them.

Wouldn't a real RR just get smaller locos...... Those designed for the prevailing track radius.

We got a limited number of steam locomotives work with.
The B&M ran Berkshires so I would think the curve radius would be wide enough.
But that's not the point, what we are trying to come up with is a work around rather than having to reset the tracks.

I know Michael didn't give this a lot of thought at the time, as all the electric/diesels are just fine.
But since there is excellent services areas for steamers, why not use them.

And as far the 2-8-4s & 4-8-4s go, that's what I want to use,and !@##$%^ that's what I'm going to use.

Stand by and see if XDriver weighs in here with a comment. He has done more messing around with these particular locomotive than anyone else.

If not, I'll just change the path and make the scenario different.

Or maybe.............use GP9 B&M repaints and switch locomotives. Then.......... make it free roam rather than standard and make your train up with them, then back up the Berk to it in the W. Springfield yard and across the river, do the BaHo, and off down the main !!

Or if the GP20s are nearly ready,...... cold, rain & fog where ya gota use all the 20s built in gizmo's.

You'd probably want to use B&M GP7s in that case, the Berks were long gone by the time the B&M got their GP9s!

Nothing personal, but Michael has forgotten more about Railworks/Train Simulator than you know. He probably is one of the biggest contributors to this hobby that we have.

Maybe the F3s then ??

I figure it was a honest mistake on the curve radius, big deal.
Michael has known about it for some time.
Somebody will come up with a workaround of some kind.
But for you sir and your snooty opinions, you can KMA.

I just wish you all would stop and think for a minute before you post. It is so easy to say something thoughtless and so hard to take it back.

I agree Buzz, I meant nothing by talking about the curves.
I love the route as well all the stuff Michael has made over the years.
I think its really great to have a 1950ish period route as well.
And I'm loving making a few scenarios for Steam & Diesel, actually having a blast, if ya wanta know the truth.

Hey Billy, you're entitled to your opinion. And oh, by the way, back atcha.

It seems interjecting your personal opinion rather than finding solutions to over come program limitations seems to be a big thing with you.
