NEC Data Needed

Unread postby rgarber » Fri Nov 26, 2010 10:08 am

I gotta heavy slugger of a route builder interested in doing the NEC route asking questions about where to obtain info about the NEC. Like track gradients and so forth. It's just in the planning stages but if you have links or know of where good technical data is on the NEC could you please post a link(s) or what info you know? My apologies to anybody else already doing the NEC - this person is "just asking" and I'm not real knowledgeable with big named routes like this or where even to obtain info. I'll direct him here to this thread, thanks! - Rich

For charts, here's a good place to start:

There are track schematics in an old TRAINS magazine, I think January or February 2003. It may still be available on back order from Kalmbach (it has a huge photo of an Acela Express on the front, and "Americas Super Railroad" in big letters). They are rather simple, but they show pretty well the locations of stations, junctions etc, and how they're placed relative to the mileposts along the route.
