The Steam Enthusiast Question

I like all versios of trains and run them all, steam, diesel and electric. I like trains period. As for a club thats what RWA is eh? Look at the file library of stuff these guys made. I also have a smaller group of people at NERW. They are all my friends of 10 years or more so it is easy to nudge them into doing things like the routes we have made, actually we are just about finished with the second one. Both routes have 2 years labor involved in them. But trying herd people into a club and getting people to actually do wht you like or plan is extremely hard. Too many have only a little time a day to play, too many have short attention spans. The guy that comes up with the ideas ends up doing a lot of it himself. So I would suggest if you want to make a club, start it up and talking about it and try to get people to visit and eventually you may get a good crew of helpers. But expect to do a lot of it yourself. I had 4clubs 4 MSTS going and 1 for MSFS FSX/FS9 and now I got this place and NERW as well. It can be done as long as the boss keeps it going and not just barking orders.

Hi John, I'll answer your questions. Though steam locomotives are impressive machines, I prefer diesels from the 60's and 70's. At one point Bob made an offer for people to get involved in the building of an RW route. I threw my hand in and then all hell broke loose. My computer, apparently, had some kind of virus, malware, whatever. Anything I developed, nobody could see it but me. With the help from (yep, Bob and others) tried to help me remedy the situation with my computer. At that point I decided to build a gaming computer. Well, a year later, a move and other excuses, here I am. It just didn't work for me! Believe me, don't let that fire in your boiler go out, but not everybody is going to grasp the same enthusiasm as you do. Fortunately, at RWA & NERW, Bob Artim and a core of dedicated enthusiasts, keep this deal going in spite of having a real life to deal with. Hope it works out for you!

With steam you mean live steam? Either full scale 1:1 or a smaller scale, down to 1:32 steam locomotive models you can ride on or behind?

There are many live steam clubs and a few steam locomotive restauration/preservation societies.

With live steam you are bound to get your hands dirty, hair sooty and catch a piece of grit in your eye once so often?
