Hey guys,

So, in world editor, how do I alter the season and make it snow?

Thanks in advance for all the work you his do on this board.

Hello Mark,

The weather is a function of the scenario. When you place a new scenario marker the weather is one of the properties you set. I can't say I've ever set one to snow but with winter coming on I'm sure I'll think about that before long.

Is your question something like "I'm trying to make it snow but I can't - how do I do that?" (If so, I have to admit I haven't ever tried to make it actually snow in a scenario.)

Thanks for the quick response.

I hate to answer a good question indirectly, lol, but I think I have to in this case.

So lets say I am in an existing scenario and I click the x to close, but select edit. Now I am in the editor where I can place new locomotives if I want, place a driver, add cars...etc etc.

Because it its an existing scenario, is there a specific marker I click to edit, or do I have to place a new one? If it is a new one, where is that marker located? Right side of the screen menu?

I apologize, but all I have done to date is add engines and such in free roam.

Thank you so much for takin nh the tim me to answer.

Hi,
you have to change the properties of the scenario in which you want to change something. So if it's an existing one it's best to go to the scenario editor from the main menu and select the one you want to change. Your camera will be positioned directly at that marker. Double click on it and on the right side of the screen there is a new panel, maybe you have to move your mouse there to make it visible. It looks like this:
Image
1) is for the weather setting, from sunshine to sick thunderstorms everythings in there, also snow.
2) is for the season setting which changes the look of trees and buildings and if you set it to winter sets snow everywhere and all objects which have snow textures will show these. Should be about 80% of the default assets, but not all freeware objects come with one.

And I am pretty sure this is also covered in the manuals *!!wink!!*

Manuals? What its this manual you speak of? Just kidding, little joke on my life long pursuit of avoiding instruction manuals.

Makes good sense and thank you thank you thank you for taking the time to write that out for

I'm the same way. I never read instructions for anything I buy. Then... When I need them I forget where I put them.
