Is the SD70 V2 or Dash 9 a better buy?

Unread postby OpenRailer90 » Mon Mar 30, 2015 11:34 pm

SD70 V2: http://store.steampowered.com/app/208365/

Dash 9: http://store.steampowered.com/app/208356/

As I don't have any of these I'm interested to know which one should be bought first. I know they have a lot of workshop potential.

I have both and I drive the dash 9 with some modifications more than the SD70 V2 volume 2 pack.
I'd pick the Dash 9 with mods here in the file library as the winner.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.
Slick with Pretty Rainbow Colors.

I agree. The Dash-9 is a solid unit, with a decent amount if repaints.

I'm interest to also know which is used more in the Workshop.

I'm thinking about the SD70 V2 first since there's a physics mod from FanRailer from it already. I may get the Dash9 once there's a physics fix out.

I'll resurrect his thread as a steam sale is coming along and am wondering which one is used more often on the Workshop. I also found out about a Dash 9 Update from Ferrosim.es.

Looking on workshop Dash 9 392 scenarios SD70 VS 192 scenarios. So Dash 9 has more workshop scenarios. But as you know there will be a sale soon so you could get both for the price of one.

Some of the best scenarios on Workshop are for both of these DLCs. Don't let the fact that the Dash 9 has more scenarios convince you that it's a better buy.

I think they are both as good as each other and it's impossible for me to say which is better.

I'd definitely go for the Dash 9 pack, great livery and variations on the locomotives according to their specific road name(one of the first DLCs I bought for the game way back when). I also like the fact that they were updated to include lights with visible beams and rain drops on the wind shields. From what I know the first SD70 packs have not been updated in the same way. The only updated SD70s that I know are from either Sherman Hill or the NS Heritage Packs.
