How is Canadian Mountain Pass route?

It is the last large North American route not in my collection, but I have read it is a boring run.

Then I guess you don't want to buy it.

Running a heavy train downgrade through the two spiral tunnels, etc., is arguably the most challenging task found on any present North American route ... and of course, visually stunning too. Not what I would classify as "boring," but to each their own.

I'm interested to know which routes are the best buy, except those in the Steam Edition. I am considering Cologne-Koblenz with the BR266 or Miami-West Palm Beach; UK Collection with the GEML and Class 90. I plan to take the one with the least bugs.

I may hold off on the Dash 9 and SD70 V2 though.

Thanks, Elphaba. I have gone over the available workshop scenarios. Mostly mainline running I think. Is there possibilities for local freight, passenger trains?
Those Canadian Rockies are fairly remote and sparsely populated, so I expect mostly long distance freight.

If it is mostly single track, how is the AI traffic?

What unique assets are included? Canadian local or generic North American?

This is the route that introduced the 'advanced braking' script that makes running long freights downhill a challenge.

This route is definitely another true masterpiece by DTG. It was released in February and I got for my birthday in April. I love it alot. This is the first route other than USA, UK and Germany. DTG is now going global with this being in Canada and they also developed a South African route via partner program. This route includes on ES44AC in Canadian Pacific livery and tons of rolling stock including the all new potash hopper and grain hopper. The route runs 155 miles from Revelstoke BC to Eldon, Alberta. En-route are challenging inclines, Mt. MacDonald and Connaught Tunnels, Large staging yard at Golden on the CP Windermere Sub, Field, BC which is a crew change point and dividing point for the Mountain and Laggan Subdivisions. After Field comes the Spiral Tunnels where long freight trains can loop over themselves. Later you have some downhill running on the approach to Lake Louise where the track is then single all the way to Eldon where a small yard is located. This route also features some amazing scenery. Sometimes you might see a static bear standing around in the woods. A new realistic brake system is featured on the ES44AC. This is the first DLC to have it. I strongly recommend this route!

Bob has locked the other thread with your question.

The GEML with the Class 90 is good value, like the Cologne-Koblenz route with the BR 266. These offers are pretty much comparable in scope and quality.

There are two offers including the GEML and Class 90, a 5 items UK Collection for Euro 14.99 and a 2 items for Euro 16.99. I am confused, the 5 items UK Collection includes a mainline freight Diesel and at least two stopping passengers EMU's. So that's the best value pack on offer.

Least bugs you say?
German high density routes have complicated signalling with ATC and such. The German players think DTG's implementation of this is buggy to faulty.

Thanks, Buzz.

I have spent my gaming allowance for this week on UK and GER items in the sale. There is still coming weekend, or the next sale ...

_o_OOOO_oo-Kanawha: I also forgot to ask which route (Miami, West Rhine, GEML) is better for higher frame rates. I read somewhere West Rhine is graphically demanding, but Miami gets some decent frame rates.

Miami gets great frames for me. I can't speak for west Rhine but for other German routes I have they are pretty hard on the frames.

How do you get the BNSF pack as it appears to be locked.

Munich-Augsburg and Hamburg-Hannover don't seem to bad, but Munich-Garmisch lags out.

If you don't live in the US Of A you cannot but you could try Amazon.co.uk DTG have licensing issue with BNSF allowing them to use there logo outside the US OF A.
