Question about suscribing to Workshop scenarios on Steam.

Unread postby jack72 » Sun Jan 18, 2015 6:45 pm

Lately about 90% of the stuff I have tried to subscribe from Steam's Workshop is not showing up.

The stuff that I have tired to subscribe to does say "works with TS2015" and I know I have the routes, engines and so on.

I subscribe to it, then go to the Profile section of TS2015, click on workshop and wait for the downloading to complete.
There are no required files, but like I say, 90% of the time when I search for the scenario, it's not there.

Does this happen a lot to you guys as well. Is it Steam not working or am I missing something here.

In the Profile then Workshop you should be able to see that you subscribed to some, however you can not play them from there. So you have to go to Drive, then the route and pick that scenario.

This is what I posted over at UKTS to someone asking the same question.

All the WS stuff should show up under Profiles/Workshop page in TS in the window on the left. If there is nothing in that window they haven't downloaded. When they are downloading a download bar appears at the bottom of the screen. You can also see them downloading via Steam by clicking on the downloads option at the bottom of the library drop down menu. Are you sure you have subscribed to these scenarios/routes. Sometimes people think that they are subscribing to a scenario when it is actually a route and it won't show up unless you subscribe to scenarios for it. Also WS scenarios/routes come in 2 flavor's either career or standard. And as mentioned above you can only play them from the drive option either as Career/Free Roam/Standard and Quick Drive that's if they have quick drive enabled.

There does appear to be a problem with workshop downloads tonight. I just tried to download one and it is not showing up in the drive menu.

I have subscribed to many scenarios, and it seems like it takes forever for them to show up.

Yet another of RSC's exciting 2015 improvements! ("Exciting" does mean time consuming and confusing, doesn't it?) See also: removal of simple button to resume last saved scenario.

I don't mind some of what 2015 brought, but this has been a really disheartening problem for a lot of scenario writers. The removal of the easy voting button has meant that unless you're basically Elphaba, a significant number of scenarios never garner enough votes to display a rating.

They said in engine driver a while back they are working on getting the play button back and the ratings thing also. It is coming, not sure when, but it is.
