Is this going to post to Steam as well? A little concerned about applying this outside of Steam since I assume a future file validation pass will wipe out any changes & revert to the un-patched version.

Thanks for the awesome engines!

I believe it's the same patch. He just got tired of waiting on DTG or Steam or whoever was holding things up.

DTG are supposed to release the patch on Steam, someday. I got fed up of waiting and decided it would be nice for players to use the patch over the holidays instead of having to wait until who knows when. One advantage of doing it this way is that if someone doesn't like the patch, they can easily remove it by putting the .ap files back where they should be and deleting the unpackaged/patched folders. They can also give me feedback so that I can, if necessary, modify the patch before DTG releases it to Steam.

I'm particularly keen to hear what you all think of the deeper chuff sounds. I'm still not entirely sure about them myself but I use the discrete sound card graphic equalizer to get the sound the way I like it.

Are you going to release this on UKTS Mike ? If not I shall post about this over there and head them this way.

In my SmokeBox folder I only have the UP FEF-3 Northern and the Consolidation, no UP FEF-3 Overland folder.

Hi Trev,

If you could just post on UKTS, pointing them to RWA, that would be great.

The Overland rwp (Pack02) is only for those who bought the Overland (aka Greyhound) liveries from the Marketplace (I think if you go to the Steam store list of DLC, they're hiding somewhere near the end of the list).

13. Increased the clanking sound at low speed.

Ooooh, I like the sound of that, I can do a bit of shunting and turn the volume right up, that'll keep the neighbours awake over Christmas..... !*roll-laugh*!

The instructions say to unpack the .ap files and then apply the patch.

That shouldn't be necessary should it? My understanding is that if you just apply the .rwp file it should set up the modified files in the "old" folder structure and they should then be used in preference to the ones in the .ap file.

Bob.

P.S. Thanks very much for the patch.

Thanks :D

To be honest, after the way DTG have mishandled every release, and them making a 50% discount, without asking me, when the loco had been released only a few weeks before the sale (the Thanksgiving sale), I've got absolutely no interest in doing any more DLC for TS.

Hi Bob,

That's what I thought too, until I had a problem that was solved only by removing the .ap file. I can't actually remember what the problem was, but when I removed the .ap, it magically went away.

!*cheers*!

I hear that, brother! Sales wise, you're worse off, but sanity wise, you're better off going independent of them to produce DLC.. My audio packs have done reasonably well. Perhaps if you ever spark the flame again, this would be something to consider?
