Where is this forum hosted?

Unread postby ErikGorbiHamilton » Tue Dec 09, 2014 8:43 pm

Where is the server/hoster located at? My time is (PST/PDT) 5:42 PM and i see a thread with a time stamp of about 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM on the same day. Doesn't the host or Server Provider location determine the time on a certain forum?

It does not matter really.

Go to 'User Control Panel' > 'Board Settings'. You can select your time zone so all the posts "times" are relative to you.

If you have the clock set correctly under User Control Panel/Board Preferences the time on the main forum page, just under board index, should match the time of your PC.

Mine didn't show correctly either. It's one hour ahead on the board, yet I had preferences set to Pacific. I changed "DST is in effect" to "No", and the board now matches my PC. Does this mean I'll have to do this whenever Daylight Saving Time switches?

Or not, if you're like me and don't care exactly when stuff is posted.

Same here. It is 2:17 but the forum says it is 3:17. I am waiting for them to get rid of DST altogether.

Odd, since the software should sync with the server (as with other boards). Either the board is ignoring the sever clock change, or your server is set not to change at all.
Cheers!
