Route ID number for Stevens Pass?

Unread postby BoostedFridge » Thu Oct 30, 2014 4:56 pm

Hi guys,

Does anyone know the folder name that the Stevens Pass route is contained in, inside the 'content' folder? It seems like most of my DTG routes have been repackaged as .ap files during one of the updates, and I'd rather not unpack each route to try and identify it.

You can go to the build menu in TS2015 and click on the route you want. It will give you the location of the the route. This works for scenarios as well. If you are running TS2015 in a window, click on open and it will open the folder for that item.

If you go into the main TS2015 directory and scroll down a bit you well find a exe file called name my route. Start this up and after about 30 seconds or so all the routes well show up with there names and numbers.

One caveat - if the route is in the .ap file format its correct name will not appear in namemyroute.exe until you either unpack the .ap file or using something like 7zip unpack the just the routeproperties, xml file from the .ap structure. Otherwise in namemyroute.exe it will show the routes GUID number OK but the name will appear as "missing routeproperties.xml"
Otherwise a great tool.

It shows routes in the .ap format. It's also showing folders with scenarios for routes I don't own... (The greyed out ones) !*don-know!*
I should mention I haven't unpacked any .ap files.

Eric
I'm sorry that is not correct :D - namemyroute.exe cannot display a route that is in an .ap file format unless it has been fully unzipped or you have unzipped/unpacked the routeproperties.xml file. The "greyed" out entries can also be scenarios downloaded from the WS or elsewhere but you do not have the corresponding route installed or it is in .ap file format. In your example the greyed out route 00000029- is the ECML London to Peterborough OR at some time you have downloaded a scenario for that route. The only missing entries I have with the legend "missing route properties.xml" are scenarios that I do not have the routes for, as I have unpacked all the routeproperties.xml files with 7 zip and I will lose all that info if I verify the cache (until I unzip them again). Namemyroute.exe does display any route that does not have the .ap file structure such as any of the Just Rains Routes. (I guess that you know clicking on the plus sign shows the scenarios installed for that route in the \Content\Route\Scenarios folder? Selecting "copy all" and then opening in MS Excel or similar gives you a list of all routes and scenarios associated with the route.

Namemyproperties.exe must be able to "see" the unpacked routeproperties.xml file in order to display the route name, just like Mike Simpson's RW_Tools. You cannot edit, a scenario, asset, or route from any unpacked .ap file in RW_TOOLS - that is why Mike gives you the means to unpack .ap files so thay can be viewed and edited.

Peter....
I do not have Donner Pass unzipped in any way, shape or form and yet it is showing there in the clip I took... **!!bang!!**

I haven't unzipped any routes from the .ap files.
The routeproperties.xml files are already there in my backup of TS2014 and TS2015. Unless they added that during last year as part of their bug fixes?

I dig in my files on a regular basis. I know what I have and haven't unzipped.
I also have files for scenarios I didn't download from workshop in files for routes I don't own (the greyed out ones in the above screen clip). Others at other web sites have reported the same anomaly since 2015 came out.
Not that the unused scenarios will hurt anything.

I wondered this too, as all routes here also have the unpacked XML file, even though I remember they did not before several weeks ago.
Cheers!

Well - that must have changed. The xml file never used to be present.
My apologies *!embar*! I got so used to unpacking the xml file automatically that I hadn't realised a change had occurred,
Also, at one point you could only view the scenarios outside the .ap structure (not those in the .ap file) but that may have changed too as all the scenarios are listed for the Count of Monster Disco.

Eric - many apologies - but that is a change for the better - it means we can use RW-Tools to edit scenarios without unpacking anything!

I must confess. The more I was looking at files and folders in the Content, the more I didn't remember seeing that routeproperties.xml next to the .ap file before.
It was a case of "Something seems different..." *!greengrin!*
