No way for us users to change this unless you lower the resolution size that RailWorks displays at, or get a bigger monitor, or reading-glasses :D But yeah, I find, especially when working with the editor now, the text size is way too small, and now I have to lean in close to read the text or see the numbers. I sent off a nice email to RailWorks support in regards to about this and a few other things.
Send RailWorks support an email, as the more voices they hear about the text now being too small, then hopefully they will decide to give us RailWorks Users an option to set the text size as we want to something larger.

Hi
I am having the same problem. I have to get my nose right up to the screen to read the names in my marker flyout.. I remember in the last big update I had the same problem and I went into the config.xml file in railworks and changed one of the font size, but I am having a seniors brain cramp and I cant remember which one it was. maybe somebody can remember which one as it was talked about in the other forum

I sent an email to RS and I received this a few minutes ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for contacting RailSimulator.com .
Please take the time to read the following text for answers to the
most common RailWorks queries.

Class 57 controls
To fix this, open RailWorks launch window and click 'Tools & Docs' ->
Clear Cache. Then close and restart RailWorks and Steam. Expert
Controls need also to be on.

Latest Version: 110.8b
IMPORTANT: Most RailWorks issues can be fixed by Verifying the Steam Game Cache
To do this and repair content, follow these steps:

1] Exit RailWorks and then Exit Steam
2] Start Steam again
3] Select the ‘Library’ tab
4] Right Click on ‘RailWorks’ and select properties from the menu that appears
5] Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
6] Click on ‘Verify integrity of game cache…’
7] Once complete, close the Properties window
8] Any required content will then be re-downloaded
9] Once listed as 100% Ready, you can start RailWorks again

2) Problem with PhysX or Graphics Card Update?
To rectify this problem, navigate to this folder:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Install

Within this folder is PhysX_6.10.25_SystemSoftware.exe

Run this setup to re-install PhysX (the physics system used by RailWorks).

nVidia Users
For certain nVidia Graphics cards, please see the official nVidia
Website for specific PhysX drivers and software.

3) Encountered a problem with Scenarios failed to load?
Please clear the RailWorks cache...

To do this, there is a button located under the Tools & Docs tab in
the Launch Screen. This button is called Clear Cache.

4) Cannot locate Loco/ Wagon?
Enable the loco in the Scenario Editor...

Example: Locating the 380/ 390.
First, load Free Play on the route you wish to run the Class 390/ 380.
Once loaded, open the World Editor, and click on the Scenario Editor
icon in the top left tools window.

Move to the middle left tools window click the small blue cube in the
top left of this window. This will bring out a window on the right
side of the screen where you can enable additional content to appear
in the route.

The 390 resides under S9BL > Class390Addon (you may need to scroll
down the list)
The 380 resides under TotalizeMedia > Class380Pack01 (you may need to
scroll down the list)
All other downloaded or purchased wagons can be found here.

Once this is enabled, the Class 390/ 380 will appear in your rolling
stock list and be available for you to place.

5) Problems with a Non RailWorks Add-on?
If you are having a problem with 3rd party payware or freeware you
will have to contact the developer direct about their own products as
RailWorks does not maintain these products.

Hmmmm. Unless I missed something I don't think that really answers our question about the small fonts in the flyouts.

Hhere is an answer I got in the other forum,Apparently RW is aware of the problem

"Hi guys,
Just back from manchester. (good to have a day off the computer!)

The font issue will get looked at next week.
I did discuss with the artist on Friday and no one intentionally changed it. However due to new fonts coming in for front end and the new hud, index's got changed.

WIll keep you updated as I know more."

Font Sizes

Unread postby emptyhead » Sat Oct 30, 2010 3:13 am

"The font size will be adjusted in the next code update which is planned at the end of Nov/beginning of Dec."

RSDerek posted that in UKTS just this morning.

I merged these two threads since the original thread explained the situation and it helps to keep the topic in one place.

Has the font problem been fixed? My font is so small it is not readable. I thought from reading this thread I just had to wait for a fix but now I'm wondering if I missed something.

guess we have to have to wait a bit longer for a fix, but RSC said they would bring one. I've read it somewhere official, though I can't remember where it was. Could have been on Facebook or UKTS.

I really can't understand the problem with the fonts, the reason RSC changed them in the first place was the number of complaints they received that asset names etc in the editor were too large, overflowed the list boxes and thus users could not read what was there.

Now they reduce the size and users once again complain.

If you have a decent monitor (why would you have one less than 24" to play RailWorks in the first place), then you should have no problem reading them. The fonts on RW are certainly no smaller than the fonts in this post I am currently writing?

Sorry, Mike, but the monitor size thing doesn't work out that way. It's more about screen resolution. Most monitors (LCD panels, whatever you want to call them) now come with a default resolution that looks best. On my newest 17 inch it is 1920 x 1080; other resolutions are available but distort or blur the image. I LOVE this resolution; I paid extra to get it. I can finally see a "field of view" that's somewhat realistic in RW. Also, this is 1080p compliant, so it is real HD.
Unfortunately, my font is so tiny I now need a magnifying glass and a view from less that 12 inches from my screen to read my asset pick list! It SUCKS!!!
Previously, we could change these font sizes easily in the config file; now I can change some, but not the ones I need. Why did they change this?!?!?!?!

Going blind,
Tori

Edit: P.S. Up at the top right of this forum screen (and many others) there is a font size adjuster; I use it regularly. The fact that these are appearing everywhere is evidence that all kinds of people are having trouble with this "miniaturization" trend in text. I do not understand why the world has become so enamoured with teeny tiny fonts over the past 10 years!! I have found fine print on products today that are difficult to read even WITH a magnifying glass!
