Changing a route's sky?

Is it possible to change the sky dome/cloud textures with those from a different route, and if so, how? For example, I'm thinking of changing out the sky in Stevens Pass (which has some very low res cloud textures) with the better looking skies that came with newer routes like the NS Coal district. Thanks!

Yes you can. Go into your route folder and open up Route Properties XML. Scrolling down you will see the weather blueprint section with the provider info. You will have to copy the needed info from the route that has the sky dome you want, and paste it into the other XML. You won't have to convert to bin to make the changes happen.

Hi Krellnut,

First, thanks for taking the time to reply and help out. I first went into Railworks\Content\Routes and found the Stevens Pass folder (93aab37f-606f-484b-8525-25dc457360f1). Stevens Pass is one of the routes that has those contents packed into MainContent.ap. I extracted RouteProperties.xml, turned off Read Only, then proceeded to paste the <Weather> section from the PennCoal route into the Stevens Pass RouteProperties. I cleared all blueprints.pak (just to be on the safe side) and loaded a scenario in Stevens, but it still showed the default sky.

Then I figured I should try the <Skies> section as well, but same results (default sky/cloud textures.)

Are there any other tricks I can try? I was thinking that the RouteProperties.xml might not be read outside of the .ap first like it does with anything in the Assets folders.

Thanks again!
