copy effect from engine to engine?

i have question about headlights/raindrops effects. can i copy from one model to another. like gp9 from horseshoe curve gp 9 and past it to gp9 pack? same idea for sd70ace from heritage unite to sd70ace 1&2 etc...

I'm sure you could, you would have to adjust certain files so it knows to read out of that folder, rather than trying to read out of another. It's not too complicated if you know what to do. But somewhere I'm sure the file is specific to the Horseshoe GP9, figure out what and where, and then figure out how to make is specific to the GP9 Pack. If you can do that everywhere it's needed, you should be able to get it to work. Just know what it is you want to move, what it's set to, and what to change it too and you should be good. Probably just a simple file name or path, and you should have it done. I'm no expert, but that's what I've done with repainting, and it works just fine. Copy what you want, adjust the files, and you're good to go.

Lights - yes, just copy the projecting child objects.
Rain - no. Well you can use the HSC GP7 cab in your GP9s, but you can't copy "rain" from one model to another like you can projecting lights, it's part of the material setup for the model.

And that is an annoying pain - you end up with two copies of most of the model textures if you're not using the "default" GP9. And I just noticed no dynamics in cabview, so you're limited to the HSC GP7 shape from internal view.
