The last time I was on TS was November 22, 2013. I got burnt out on the simulator and took some time off to relax and pursue other things. lately I fired up TS2014 and spent a few hours playing around and bad part was, I had to figure out the keys again. sounds pretty stupid but actually had myself back into it again. I would visit RWA from time to time just to see what was going on.
My wishes are that Railsimulator.com would stop playing around when they announce a new route and start getting more involved with the community and keeping those who pay, informed. I plan on purchasing the NS Mon line since I grew up in that area and back in the 80's I was slightly involved with CONSOL coal which is the owner of the Bailey complex and a few other mines.
I am still a bit disappointed on the variety of rolling stock that is available. No blame in big part but there is a big blank space on locomotives. a few first generation EMD's and mostly modern era EMD. what about the old trusty GP35/SD35?, thanks to Great Notherner for the SD7/9 he has offered. One whole ALCO. and of course, the biggest void, GE. All modern road locomotives except the 44 tonner. Once there was news of the trusty U25, but that promise I guess evaporated.
Now yes, I bet a few would say, "why dont I make a few myself"? two problems, 1. I dont have the talents to do so and 2. I dont have the time or money to sink into programming for 3D. Now for all those out there that contribute to modeling and route creation, my hat is off for you and very commended from me for the hard work and talents put into this hobby. One little niche I did get into was a few scenarios for Rich S. Montour route. The Montour basically ran through my back yard so I took pride in making a few for Rich and the community to enjoy. hopefully in the next few weeks I can actually make it from one end to the other on the Stephens pass and by then the Mon line will be available. Which reminds me that I have almost modern route available from RSC that I need to run as well.
One more thing directed to RSC, thanks for all the nice routes you offer to all of us, it would be really nice to pick out a regional railroad and make a route, Buffalo and Pittsburgh, Bessemer and Lake Erie, Wheeling and Lake Erie and others around the US that add importance to US domestic value.
Thanks for my venting,
Glenn
