Just don't hit that Install button!

Remember the debacle some (a lot!) had in the Thanksgiving sale. If you do buy a combo package with TS2014 in it, DO NOT HIT THAT INSTALL BUTTON!!!!!!!!!! It was a combination of hitting Install then Cancel that wiped TS2014 from people's PC. Some it meant just reinstalling TS2014, others lost a lot of third party content.

If the install doesn't start automatically after your purchase is concluded, then just exit Steam and restart it. Your download should start then (you will see little dots on top of that lever thing in the Steam icon)

Steam supposedly fixed this, but do you want to be the one to test that? !*hp*! **!!bang!!** !*don-know!*

Chris
I take it that you are referring to the "install Game" button that pops up immediately after you have successfully completed buying some DLC from STEAM?
I've used it once or twice but on my rigs - nothing happened!! Near Miss!! !*not-ok*!
I now use your described technique to load new DLC.

Yep. The safest way to buy dlc on Steam, is to use your internet browser to complete the purchase, then close the broswer and open the Steam window.
The download will start automatically without reinstalling the whole sim.

That's exactly what I did today and it worked perfectly. Got Ohio Steel2, Colton Northern, Portland Terminal and the SD45. !*YAAA*!

Good choices.
Despite being old, Colton Northern is a lot of fun.
Do yourself a favor, though, and go through the scenarios with the scenario editor.
Open the player train's instructions in the timetable view, open each "go via" instruction and change the 0 mph speed to 1 mph.
Well, almost each: not the ones where you have to stop for reversing directions, of course.
At 0 mph, the instruction is a "stop at" instead of a "go via", and it is very annoying to have to stop every minute or so, especially since the markers are so small so it is easy to overshoot.
At the time Mr. Garber made this route, the game's behavior was different.

I also replaced the default SD40 with the LV RS11, and I found it is perfectly suited to this route. But that's just me.

Chacal, thanks for the heads up. I haven't tried any scenarios in Colton Northern yet (still in Ohio Steel2) so I'll make sure I check all the scenarios first making adjustments where needed.

Once again *!!thnx!!*
