IHH closing down at the end of this year!

Unread postby mrennie » Fri Nov 29, 2013 8:59 am

I just came across this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater

Very sad to hear that Paul (Sly) Godber won't be doing any more models for RW/TS. I couldn't buy all of them but the ones I do have are excellent, and the steam locos in particular were an inspiration to me to have a go myself.

Paul, if you're reading this, good luck to you in your new ventures (you didn't say what they are, but I'm sure you'll do well with all the experience you have). I'll keep an eye out to see what you get up to.

!*cheers*!

This is sad. I've not purchased much from Paul lately, but I sure do have a lot of his fine locomotives. Fortunate enough to have his big US steam, as well as the Tornado, Duchess and Flying Scotsman. All the best for you in whatever you decide to do in the future, Paul. !*salute*!

A shame to loose such a talented modeler, but I wish him success in any future interests.
Cheers!

I think Tornado and Flying Scotsman were RSC only. Paul sold the Challenger and Big Boy to RSC some time ago. I wonder what he'll do with all his source code now? Sell it all to RSC?

That could be an idea, it'd be a shame to let all those models go to Waste... Sure, some are available from other distributors (such as the Class 40 and Class 50), but still...

I'm almost positive I got the Tornado from IHH, Mike. Looks like you are right about the Scotsman being RSC. Doesn't really matter I suppose. !**duh*!!

Yeah, whoever made it, Tornado is a great locomotive and an excellent model, one of my favourites.

Gotta get the 75t crane and the 8P Duke of Gloucester

It's a shame. Not all of us always saw eye to eye with him, particularly over physics and sounds but he is (was) the only developer really interested in producing classic 1960's/1970's BR loco and DMU/EMU traction for RW. I would rather have a Class 26 (see my avatar!) with sounds not quite as I recall, than none at all.

Not sure who (if anyone) is likely to step up and fill his shoes.

Anyhow good luck to the chap in his future ventures and I'm sure some of us will be flexing our plastic at his site to get a few goodies before the end.
