I am merely asking a question, not making any criticism. Maybe making a gentle suggestion. It's not my job to look into the rear view mirror and tell them what they should have done.

Since both of them are sold through Steam one wonders why these were not vetted. I only have one question. Who are DTG beta testers and why on Earth did they not catch the problem with the QD loco information and the issues with these two third party providers? How about the view 4 issue? Surly anyone who runs TSC for more than a few minutes would have seen that. Are they only testing with vanilla installation? If so what is the purpose of continuing with TSC since one of the great lures is all of the addons both routes and rolling stock?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Well Buzz, these are questions we all have asked and have been criticized in doing so. My observations were that this was indeed a poorly planned and executed rollout. There was minimal consultation, if any, with developers while this update was being produced. As to the beta testing question, if they are beta testing in house did the testers understand the fundamentals of coding for advanced locomotives, this is where they should defer to the developers to do the beta testing. The big question is why it was not released as a beta with a revert function. They could have received feedback but not broken the game. Could this have been rushed in order to impress the new owners? Maybe in DTG's hubris they hoisted themselves on their own petard. As a side note any of these png files within .ap folders will revert back with a file verify. The snow is slowly going away, and I need to start my Spring projects. We seem to have 2 seasons here in Alaska, Winter and the 4th of July. Note: have lost 20 pounds on my diet. Notch 8 and sand.

There are millions of different computer configurations out in the real world so don't expect game developers to get their games running on everyone's computers. I must be one of the lucky ones and have really had no issues running games on all the Windows-based PC that I have had since 1998 if I have it was caused by my hardware not being up to scratch. I did have an issue with one flying game on CD/DVD which wouldn't run on my PC and I took it back to the retailer and because it worked on their PC I could only swap it for another title.

This is the answer I received this morning regarding my support request: Hi Roger,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the reverser in the Canadian Pacific AC4400CW Loco Add-On and understand your frustrations. Please be assured that we were not expecting these problems and will be considering public beta testing before further updates are made.
Firstly they owned their mistakes, a very positive move and agree that a public beta may be the best way forward for future updates.

Since the last update of TS classic the behavior of the camera on key 4 does not make sense. The shot change is only every 4 seconds and the start is right next to the locomotive. So I would like it to be like before and I wonder if we can change this by editing the camera on key 4. Is there a way to do so??? !**conf**!

DTG is aware of the problem and working on a fix that will be out with the next update I have been told by their support desk. I put in a ticket on this issue.

The DSDGGR S1 Duplex seems to have scripting issues. I can't feed enough water to keep the boiler full.

It is a known issue with most Steam locos since the update. DTG is aware of it. Smokebox has released patches for this via their FB page which will be eventually released on Steam.

I am aware of the Smokebox issue and have installed the patch he provided. Just thought I would note this for others. Maybe someone else can confirm this.

NZTS Workshop locos have the same issue. "Please be advised that the issue with Steam Locomotive Injectors and the current version of TS: Classic persists.
Information from my last post on this matter:
If you are firing the Ja or Kb **manually** (that is to say with the Automatic Fireman option unticked in the game settings) you will find that the Exhaust Steam Injector is not functional - the handles will turn, the sound will play, but the injector will *not* put water into the boiler, nor will the tender water level decrease.
I have tested both the Ja and Kb and when manually firing the Live Steam Injector on the Ja and the Hot Water Injector on the Kb *do* work (for me, though other developers are reporting even the alternate injectors do not run) - so if they do not, please be aware this is a TSC bug and we'll have to wait for a patch."

Do you want to tell me what are the improvements of TSC worthy of the name since the big update if not that it is much worse than before? !*don-know!*

Remember there are millions of different computer combinations, so don't expect a games developer to get their games to run 100% on all of them. I use the term developer as I play many games and each developer has the same issues. Anyway, I read this from DTG. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/thread ... ate.69927/

Seems to me there is a difference in "getting their game to run...." versus maintaining the levels of playability that existed with the prior edition, which alas has not been the result of this update.
