Seeing I pretty much had all the north American content I bought some English content. Since getting Western Lines of Scotland I find that I am enjoying the English content.

I might have to give in and buy the NS heritage units or the Baldwin Centipede.

For now I bought:
-Doncaster Works
-Falmouth Branch
-UP Challenger
-J94 Memories of Maerdy Pack
-NKP S-2 Class Berkshire
-SP&S E-1 Class Northern
-Woodhead

Interesting setup they've gone with for the discount. I was planning on just buying the SP SD45, Dash-9, Marias twin pack and the GP38-2 today and calling it good but I think I'm going to hold off and wait on the Marias thing to see if they're going to go on a special discount or something. I'm so excited to finally have the SP SD45, my favorite locomotive, and operated by my favorite operator! *!greengrin!*

The steamers at 80% off are also awfully tempting, but I'm trying to limit my spending to around $50 and adding one of those would be stretching it...And I can't for the life of me figure out how to properly drive a steam locomotive in this game since the TS2013 update anyway *!rolleyes!*

It's not that hard, but needs to be discussed elsewhere at your leisure.

I know how that is.....took over 30 mins to place my order. DANG!

You just have to keep trying till you get through.

Thanks for that. I had no intention of asking here.

Dang, I was expecting some downtime in the first hour or so like usual during these sales, but I've never seen it down this late into the evening. Steam is ever-increasing in popularity I suppose, can't expect their servers to handle hundreds of thousands, if not a million or more, people all trying to buy stuff at the same time.

So...when you purchase DLC and it doesnt install properly (shows installed by steam, but no files were transferred), is the only course of action a Verify Cache?

If so, I may have to contact support (if steam even has such a thing).

I would give it a little time as you may have been put in a queue to download the files. I know it took about 15 minutes to download a couple of workshop items when they normally start instantly and finish within a few seconds for me.

Steam does have support, but they are going to be even more swamped during the sale than they normally are.

Ah, ok. If workshop files are getting bogged down, then DLC and games must be really delayed! I usually wait a few days after the sale starts before I attempt a purchase because I've always feared their servers getting swamped...now I know my fears were justified! I'll give it a day or so, and if nothing turns up, then I know its time to try to contact the almighty powers at steam.

UPDATE: Well, seems like it was a huge mistake to buy things on the first day of the Summer Sale; now I cant launch TS2013, and cant validate cache. TS2013 gives an error message, and Validate Cache appears to check the files but wont download anything. Good thing I backed up the folder before I tried all this. Now its time for the "Delete Local Content" button. But I'll try that tomorrow.

Steam does this thing every year...you'd think they've have it figured out by now.
