There is also a lot of good freeware for this game as well! I am talking about payware though. *!!wink!!*

Thanks to Arctic Cat for a reasonable, logical, and fair assessment of the subject of sales. Huge companies like Wallmart hype their sales of one item and pay the difference by raising prices on ten other items. Consumers seldom notice and Walmart's profits rise. RSC, on the other hand, is a very small company that sells just one product, Railworks, albeit with numerous accessories (DLC). If they tried the tactic I just described, putting one item of DLC on sale and raising the price of a few others, the constant complainers and willful whiners would scream bloody murder. I am delightfully surprised and grateful that they ever put anything on sale. The cc's and ww's never seem to complain when they receive a major update free of charge, except of course to wail their favorite phrases before the free download has even completed: "it's broke", "they broke all my stuff", and my favorite, "everything on my computer's broke". I don't have enough money to buy all the DLC I'd like to have, either, but it seems to me that RSC sets reasonable prices and if my bank account makes me wait a while, so what?

That's enough soap-box racing for one day.

Regards,
Tom Pallen (Old Prof)

Plus, if you save your pennies for the sales, by the time they have one, you have a nice slush fund with which to buy DLC.

I have enough set by (assuming there are no crises, though I do have an emergency fund) that I should be able to complete my purchases of all RSC DLC if they have a 50% off sale. Also by shopping around and keeping your eyes open, you can often pick up one or two things on one of the smaller sales. And when it's something you simply must have, you pay full price.

About 70% of the big ticket stuff (routes, big loco packs, etc, anything over about $15) I have I bought on sale, some from RSC, some from GetGames, some from Just Trains. And as noted above--there's tons of GOOD freeware out there, and if it takes payware to make it work, you can plan for that purchase.

Dude, what you have circled says "Indie Sale" and "Killing Floor" I don't see any RW. But, I'm not losing any hair over it. In fact, I'm going to get a haircut now. !*roll-laugh*!

Pretty sure Railworks can be classified as a "Indie" game. They don't use publisher financial support [Activision / EA / etc.] and they are a small team.

Open Steamworks: This site displays raw data from queries to Steam's database of games and packs. There is no guarantee that these bundles will be part of the sale or that the list of games in each is final or complete. For past sales, however, sifting through the data on OpenSteamworks has proven to be a fairly reliable indicator of upcoming bundles.

I really hope they have individual items on sale too, I don't want all the DLC... :/

I'm guessing they will do individual offers, like the 24 hour specials :)

That list only shows bundle sales, and I highly doubt they'll have JUST bundle sales...That seems kinda silly. At least that's what I'm hoping, I just want a couple of the DLCs, I don't want to spend $200 to get all of it regardless of how good of a deal it is. :/

Yeah, I mostly want a few pieces of rolling stock too... Maybe I'll splash out for London - Brighton and Settle - Carlisle if they have a 75% off...

My wishlist is the London to Brighton and 4CIG Southern Twin Pack, and an old skool class 101, might get some rolling stock if on special, to be fair, I know it's not a big list but I have been focusing on the editor too much in the last few weeks and thought i'd have a play about when i get these new items :) Still deciding wether to order this ssd i have been on about during the last couple of days, the funds are there, i just have a gut feeling to wait a day or 2.

I took last week off just to clear my head as all i was hearing was the ding ding ding ding noise (you know? that noise you get on the title screen) and thought maybe take a break, well heads clear again and once this ssd arrives (if i get my finger out and order one) i'll be set *!greengrin!*
