The RSC Newsletter I received today contained one paragraph that I don't recall seeing in earlier announcements:

What’s next?
Upgraded versions of Hagen Siegen, Bath Templecombe, Newcastle York and more exciting announcements! (timetable tbc).

I'm mentioning this because someone had questioned why the upgrade is limited to the Cajon Pass and Oxford Paddington routes. Given the size of this package, not upgrading everything at once seems like a very good idea.

It will be like a verifying of cache, all your mods (those changing default files) will be replaced by default files. Skins (in general) and scenarios will not be affected (probably), however sounds, couplers, lightings (vehicles, signals etc.) wil have to be reinstalled. To save time and minimize headaches see this (is still in time):

ah ok thanks man. i have 9 added runs i don't want to lose. but im working on backing up my entire folder now. so all i will have to do is just drag and drop my sounds back in. IF the game works for me after the update. if not i will tell rs what they can do with rw2012 *!greengrin!*

I use RW Tools to backup my RW install every time I change something. I learned when upgrading from Vista 32 to Win 7 64 that it's just the smart thing to do.

On top of that I also run a hard drive backup once a week, the beauty of having two external HD (one 500GB--and the home of my Steam install--and the other 2TB) so RW gets "backed up" along with that process. Hey, what else should I do with my computer at 2am when I'm sound asleep? *!greengrin!*

I also defrag as well as back up at 2 am. Let that puppy work all night. Total virus checking is good at that hour too.

eek!

They're making default routes more processor intensive! I just hope the other core-update changes are to pave the way for better use of multi-core systems to power these 'improved' graphics...?

I looked at the official site, the Facebook site, and checked this forum. But there seems no list of which issues are addressed in this service pack.

Is that correct or I am looking with my eyes closed ?

you can never really depend on steam..

Should have been sent to Steam with the due antecipation, huh? Not Steam fault, IMHO... RSC facebooked couple hours ago that the version number will be the same after SP1 !*roll-laugh*! Unbelievable indeed! !DUH! All of this made me recall the Robinson's saga, Lost in Space *!twisted!*
