I STRONGLY recommend uninstalling the first version otherwise there may be a NS gp60 7112 loco conflict. I renamed the .bin file so that it is easier for me to use in the future.

I am impressed. Picked up the units yesterday evening. Sounds are great and the windows interaction is good too. What I am disapointed in is the stock units have no weathering on the trucks or fuel tanks. Its all gray. Obverall the locomotives will be put to alot of work by me.

grey? can you explain what you are talking about theres rust on the tanks and trucks.

the gp60 units are textured with photos, n theres clearly worn paint on them. just curious because I thought they looked good.

Also i'd like to mention that there ar ekeyboard controls for the windows and doors and marker lights, and yo ucan open doors and windows from inside the cab too. you can move sunscreens up and down. just mouse over the contents of the cab and you'll be surprised at all the neat things there are to play with. i just dont want people to overlook the fun little things that I spent horrible amounts of time doing!:)

hI

Installed the newest version and have one question.

On the NS unit the brakes are either fully released at anything up to 50% and over this are set to fully on - is this correct or something in my install?

Time out, my fault. I was refering to the DASH 8 freeware versions. When I get home I will look again.

A little off topic, since you are into building locomotives, how about a really nice EMD SD9 in the future?

its correct technically its supposed to be FULL service at 100% brake, not emergency. There is an emergency brake thats seperate. its a simple wording issue in the blueprint that i overlooked.
Its supposed to have "released", "direct" and "full service".

These units look sweet Ian, well done. I hope to pick them up soon and put them to some serious work.

Hi Ian,
I caught a couple of problems with the Automatic brake on the NS GP60 (<ControlName d:type="cDeltaString">TrainBrakeControl</ControlName>).

The first issue is, you have <RestInNotchedPosition d:type="cDeltaString">eTrue</RestInNotchedPosition> the value is set to eTrue, which forces the handle to each notch position. This value should be set to eFalse
<RestInNotchedPosition d:type="cDeltaString">eFalse</RestInNotchedPosition> allowing the handle to move between the zones on the air brake control.

Here is the setup I use that closely matches the movement of the Automatic Air Brake handle used on the prototype locomotive.

Code: Select all
                           <Notch>
                              <cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData d:id="28204816">
                                 <Identifier d:type="cDeltaString">Release</Identifier>
                                 <Value d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</Value>
                              </cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData>
                              <cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData d:id="28160320">
                                 <Identifier d:type="cDeltaString">GraduatedSelfLapLimitedHolding</Identifier>
                                 <Value d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="00000040E17AB43F" d:precision="string">0.08</Value>
                              </cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData>
                              <cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData d:id="28447280">
                                 <Identifier d:type="cDeltaString">Suppression</Identifier>
                                 <Value d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="00000080EB51E03F" d:precision="string">0.51</Value>
                              </cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData>
                              <cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData d:id="28158840">
                                 <Identifier d:type="cDeltaString">ContinuousService</Identifier>
                                 <Value d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000C0CCCCE43F" d:precision="string">0.65</Value>
                              </cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData>
                              <cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData d:id="28203104">
                                 <Identifier d:type="cDeltaString">Emergency</Identifier>
                                 <Value d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000606666EE3F" d:precision="string">0.95</Value>
                              </cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever-cNotchData>
                           </Notch>

On the above code, a minimum reduction is about 8% of handle movement and the service zone is between 8% and 50%. At 51% you enter the Suppression zone. At 65% of the handle movement you are in the Handle off zone or to our west coast fans the Continues Service zone and above 95% which on the prototype the handle just moves to 100% is the emergence zone.

Regards,
Rich S.

Just saw the 1.2E demo pack is uploaded here, will give it a try...!

-Edit - it doesnt work - there are no model files (geopcdx) included with the demo.
