According to the new FAQ 2012 isnt truely multicored enabled yet. Still uses two cores.( Same as RW2. ) Sometime in the future they will allow true multicore operation.

Train Simulator 2012 has been designed to use one or more CPU cores, but we have initially restricted it to using two cores for most operations to avoid overly affecting other applications you may be running. We will be providing an option shortly that allows additional cores to be used.

I'm really hoping they have addressed some core issues in this update.

Well said, Tori. The merging of a very complex environment such as a railroad with a very complex computer simulation system is a very daunting task indeed. I'm struck by how far railroad simulation has come in the past decade, and by the consistently high level of improvement and support we've gotten from RSC, particularly in the past couple of years. If there some things still in need of improvement, and other things still beyond the capability of current systems, I guess that's the nature of life in a less-than-perfect world. We're a couple of orders of magnitude closer to the ideal than we were only a few years ago.

The sad thing is that reading around elsewhere it is clear that some people are going to download it just to find things to complain about, just to find the things that RW3 doesn't do etc which all in all is pretty depressing.

I really don't understand why everyone who is stuck on MSTS or Trainz HATES RW so much. I don't see us bashing on them....much, what's their ** problem(s)(I assume they have more than just one problem if they have to go to war against a simulator)? ...sheesh....

Hate is deep rooted in the railfan / foamer history. Stand trackside with a bunch of GEVO hatters and you'll see why I can only railfan with a select group of people... So bashing other rival train games / sim's is just a lateral move.

Also when a game has held the market by the neck for years. People fear change and thus can only bash. Hopefully TS2012 will change all that. I really would like Diesels West, Streamlines, or both to crank out some DLC.
