Harry,

Am hoping this update will take care of you sir.

I haven't seen anything official, but I've heard that NEC is a top priority for RSC to fix for RW3 compatibility

Also heard rumor that NEC fix should be coming within the month

Speaking of the NEC, does anyone know when the Acela is expected?

Posted on FB by RSC:

We are pushing out a small number of bug fixes tonight
These fixes are:
1. In legacy (non-TSX) mode, shadows are influenced by camera position
2. TS2012 fails to run if Pixel shader 2 is installed. (However,it will only work in legacy mode)
3. Fix to problem of Horseshoe Curve DLC crashing if saved at certain places
4. Terrain editor has invalid option removed
5. Editor crashing due to stencil shadow missing
We're in the final stages of fixing the ".net 4" problem, which, subject to final testing, we plan to release tomorrow.

First, do you have TSX selected? Next, not all locomotives will have raindrops, mostly just the new or revised for RW3 ones. Older models will be phased in. Give them time. They have a couple of bugs to get ironed out.

Oh, also, I DO recommend running through the UKTrainSim post here: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 7#p1466437

It really did help (a little disappointing, yes) but by using it, I successfully tweaked my program to smoothly and consistently run at 30 fps - not just with free roams anymore, but on most scenarios. (The second "Fire' scenario on HSC excluded...still getting a max of 14 fps on that). Pretty cool! Now its actually FUN!

Here's what works best with my computer:

A little disappointing (as I really liked those shadows), but playability is much more important.

Again, computer specs:
Toshiba X505 LAPTOP
Win 7 64bit
i5-430 2.6mhz Processor
Nvidia GTS360M 1gb Dedicated Graphics
8 gb Gskill DDR3 1033 ram
2 500gb 7200 rpm Hitachi drives

Not sure who you're addressing in this post or what you're trying to say/ask. Very, very confusing... !**conf**!

I understand your last sentence - and here's your answer: The only North American equipment with visible rain drips right now are the SD40-2, ES44AC, and F7. If you have the HSC route, the F7 and GP7 do as well. For right now, no other freeware or DLC pack has it and there is no publicly released schedule or ETA for when the RSC DLC will be upgraded. So if you want to know 'when', the answer is nobody knows.

OK, it was suggested that I turn TSX on, but I wanted to see if there was much difference with it on or off. I ran the test of my system (the XFire sig will take ya to my specs) with the Ohio Steel (Dover Division) route and I saw framerates of 9-68+. The framerates dropped once I got to the Dover yard with all the extra cars there. In cab, I averaged 20+ frames. I then exited and enabled TSX and boy, as noted, the SD40-2 does have raindrops on the windshields and it is beautiful. I was like !*drool*! . As far as framerates, they did drop, but at the low end, I only lost 1 FPS to 8 and I seem to recall a high end of 40+. I also noticed that even at a few MPH, raindrops on the glass moved across it depending on which way the train was going. That is attention to detail. Now there was one thing that really was out of place, the rain with no clouds and sun (I guess it was a sun shower right over the Dover Mill and rail yard. Now, there was more attention to detail as the raindrops on the glass cast shadows inside the cab.

I once had a repaint that was based on the Voyager or Class 390 or some other Euro model !*don-know!* . I never owned the original addon so I deleted the Acela repaint. Anybody know where I can find that?
