I was approached by RW a few weeks ago about information about this route and I sent them what I had on hand. This included that the SP did not have straight SD40-2's.

FYI - this is not set in today's world, they are setting it in the 80's.

Then they changed it up on me. when I gave them the information, it was the 80's, but no big deal, I have more on the early 90's than the 80's.

My current Route ends inside Roseville, and when I discovered that the Capital Corridor goes all the way up to Auburn (on the way to Reno) I was tempted to add it on as a final phase. Should I continue with my work, or simply extend what RSC has done?

The D9's made an appearance late in SP Donner history. I'm really hoping they research a bit more and include the Tunnel Motors, wouldn't be Donner without them.

140 miles? Crikey!

I'm going to be ever so slightly critical here - and really that's not how I am - but for me that's too long a route.

How long does it take to run a train from one end to the other? More time than I've got available to spend on the simulator, I'm afraid. That's my problem with the WCML(N) route - I love it dearly but can't use it properly as it's too long. As a result, it sits gathering virtual dust on my hard drive, a great shame.

I'l probably still end up buying the route, mind you!

If it is too long to run in one sitting, you can always save the scenario at any time and pick it up again when you are ready to continue.

I really prefer to complete an activity in one sitting, personally

Yeah but many of us have been wanting a long NA route like this, and there are plenty of opportunities for working yards and making deliveries to points along the route. You can run a shorter session on a longer route, but it's impossible to run a longer session on a shorter one! Thanks to RW for offering this long route in a great location!

Griphos is right John. Americans have wanted a long haul freight route for a long time. This is definetely it. Just look at PL&E. It is gigantic, but doesn't mean you have to run the whole length to enjoy it since there are endless possibilities for short to medium length scenarios.

Your point is valid, but for those of us interested in north american freight the current set of scenarios are extremely unrealistic.

Engineers don't get called to work to drive a train for 20 minutes, they get called to drive a train from one crew change point to another, usually hundreds of miles apart. There are a lot of MSTS routes and scenarios that duplicate this, but so far that I can find, nothing for RW. Even the Cajon pass route is only half the distance a crew would travel in reality.

This will add immensely to the game for a lot of people IMHO. The lack of realistic length routes and scenarios is one of the things that has kept me away from RW for so long, and I am sure I am not the only one.

Please, please, please RS, include realistic scenarios that cross the length of the route!
