I've never been a huge fan of Pennsy steam, but given the general lack of US steam I'd settle for just about anything.
I am become rust, ...destroyer of trains.

I am sure you would pass.

However, we west coaster's will need to adjust to it. *!greengrin!*

John, For me they were the easiest signals to learn. First rule color means nothing, you can be color blind and still read the PRR Position light Signal indication. No such rule as "If it's not all red, it's not red at all" *!lol!* The Pennsy actually developed the Position Light Signals to replicate Semaphore signals in light form. When looking at the three lit lights, just think of the arm on a semaphore signal. Next rule is flashing lights change the speed.

http://www.railroadsignals.us/signals/pl/PLaspects56.pdf

Compare rule 283a (Medium Approach) to rule 288 (Slow Approach) The only difference is the Medium Approach signals has the lower quadrant lights flashing, so you approach the next signal at medium speed, verses approaching the next signal at slow speed.

Regards,
Rich S.

Right off the TS2012 FAQ:

Yes! Train Simulator 2012 will retain all the locomotives and routes previously included with RailWorks 2, PLUS a brand new EMD F7
locomotive and a new UK locomotive to be revealed shortly. Also, we will have an amazing new route, fully optimized to show off all
the new technology, this will be available bundled with every new purchase of the Train Simulator 2012 Steam Edition. Existing users
will be able to buy this new route as DLC from our Steam store.

While it still hasn't been confirmed (IE announcement from RailSim), safe to say it's the PRR in the 50's between Altoona and Pittsburgh (hopefully) or more likely Johnstown. Not to go all MSTS, but this was actually supposed to be a route in the aborted MSTS 2. *!greengrin!*

The PRR pretty much pioneered the radio while everyone else was still using hand signals and paper bulletins. Pretty much everything on the PRR got radio antennas. Steam Locomotives, Diesels, Cabooses, and Passenger Cars.

Here ya go: http://kc.pennsyrr.com/faqs/trainphone.php

EDIT: Here is the PRR promotional Film that shows it in action: http://youtu.be/RBoV9OUwUH8?t=10m57s

John, you should read up on the PRR. If it wasn't for the PRR much of what you know about U.S. railroading probably wouldn't exist in its current form. They were setting standards before standards were even standard. :) That railroad was a pioneer in railroading in multiple forms.
