Happy days...freight cars that SOUND like freight cars!

I finally got the sounds installed on the freight cars and it sounds amazing. Now i dont know if its realisitc or not but this mod has done nothing for the smaller Euro feight cars and the passenger cars. Im sure passenger cars dont make the same sounds but I still think it would be cool to have these sounds work for passenger and Euro small freight wagons as well..Is this possible?

I got it working for most Euro stuff. You have to take a copy of something like wagons freight sound xml file and create a wagons file and a wagons generic version as the Euro stock uses these in its folders not the coal, cement etc. I needed to do this is in 2 or 3 folders within the Kuju folder including the UK wagons as well as the base audio folder.

Once all your wagons sound xml files are around 112kb you are good to go.

Not used these sounds for passenger stock as it is not right for that,

If I'm not mistaken, when I loaded this file up, both the wagons AND the engine sounds changed? If I am correct, the second time I went into the game, Steam rewrote over three files and the engine sounds reverted backto default, but the wagons didn't change. could be my hearing.

That's a new one..engine sounds. Far as I know this is a wagon sound mod only. What locomotive were u using?

I take the Wagons Frieght proxyxml file and make copies.

Rename one copy Wagons Generic and another just Wagons. These files are not used by US wagons which is why they are not part of the pack which is originally for US stock. However they sound a lot better on European stock than the default silence. I think the only stock I have not treated to new sounds are the Ovee stuff, the Railhead Treatment Train and passenger coaches

Use these to replace the respective files wherever you need to. Very simple and at least covers just about all the UK and German Rolling stock. From memory there are about 4 locations where these are all found.

If you get a wagon not making the new sounds I just check in RW Tools what roling stock the scenario is using. Follow the file path and you will find the Audio folder where the respective wagon sound files are. Don't forget to backup the originals.

Awesome sound pack! But one thing Im missing is slack action sounds. The coupler bang was pretty cool with the China mod - how can this be implemented in this addon?

How can I add these to a Steam-bought copy of Railworks? I've tried and can't find a Sounds folder.

go to steam/steamapps/common/railworks/assets/ and then find what you would like to put it in (kuju for most cars but some need to be modified like the payware cars from RS.com like the SD70ACe in order to work)
