Well, I'm a pretty happy camper so far. Haven't had time to try much. I verified cache after the download, and had to acquire over 2000 files. When that was done, I verified again and only had to get one. So then I tried it out. My acid test is Ohio Steel. I was unable to play it in 2012. I have a great machine and can run WCML and other demanding routes just fine. But OS brought my system to its knees. Dover yard was in the single digits to low teens at best.

So, first route I tried after figuring out the interface was OS. Plopped myself down in Dover yard with all the same settings as before, and lo and behold, locked at 30!!!!!!!! Ran the scenario and it was wonderful! Going to have to get used to how switches and routes are portrayed on the new 2D map, but I think I'm going to like that as well.

So, I guess OSII will be on my Xmas list now!

Off to do some more testing, but I'm really quite pleased at the moment.

OMG Donner Pass and NEC are playable for me now! Donner Pass is pretty good but holy cow they totally revamped NEC it looks like, its so smooth now and it easily looks 100x better than it did before. Totally happy so far, haven't played around much except for a few Quick Drives to test out my problem routes before. So far so good! !!*ok*!!

Just had a quick run out of Victoria with no issues like this, try restarting Steam completely and then try the verification process again.

Did you ignore the part where I said I've already done that? Well I have, about a half a dozen times too. I'm happy for you that your system is working, but mine isn't, and I've already followed the standard debugging steps, before being told to.

Why do you say that? Open utilities.exe in the main Railworks folder, the package manager and the asset editor are in there. I've created a desktop shortcut, I like it because the departure of the wrapper is one less stage to go through to get in-game.

Sorry, thought they had erased it or something.

Disregard my post on dumping RSC and Railworks. I think Ill keep it as soon as I can get Donner Pass, NEC, Acela, and the Sherman Hill. !*brav*!

How did you clear the blueprint cache? I can't find an option to clear cache.

It's there buried deep. I found it last night but dont remember exactly where, I was getting tired. I believe it was under a tools section.

Here's how, directly from RSC:

To clear the Blueprint cache please follow these steps:
1. Open Train Simulator 2013
2. Open Main Menu
3. Click Game Settings
4. Click Tools
5. Click Clear Cache
6. Once complete please re-check Train Simulator 2013 to see if your problem persists.

Hope this helps.

That great, except I cannot access the main menu, all I've got is a black screen

What is silly is that after clearing the cache you need to restart to program. In 2012 you cleared the cache BEFORE running the program. Sounds like a step backwards to me.

Gordon - I respectfully disagree that it's a step backwards. The reload happens quickly enough, for me, at least. It also restarts after a change in graphics properties. For the increases I've seen in smoothness and FPS I think it's a very small price to pay. To be able to use TSX on my laptop with most other graphics properties on HIGH is fantastic! !!*ok*!!

I agree on that, it is a huge step back - it does not reload quickly for me (about 30 sek) and since I develop add-ons I need to clear the blueprint cache 200 times a day. If you ask me the new menu is just one big mess.
