Well I am getting kind of fed up by all the negative RSC bashing about this issue. When people make mistakes one should give them time to correct.

People who do not make mistakes never make anything.

In the Package Manager, the red color means that those files were not found on disk. I deleted my Dash9_cab_radio.dav file and now it shows red also, it's not a problem, but a clue to you check if you have missing files. The ".spk* files are not expected to be there, they are usually deleted after install, so the read color is right. If you have other files in red, when expanding the folders in "List View" tab , then it may mean something wrong.

People have the right to be upset, they've paid hard earned money for a product that is not currently working. How would you feel if you tried to use your automobile today and it didn't start? Then you had it towed to the auto dealer and they told you they did not have any kind of a time frame on when it would be repaired? Sure this is a hobby or pastime, but that does not mean I can just throw money away and hope at some time in the future it may work, what good is it to me if I cannot enjoy it? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I hold payware vendors at a slightly higher level because they are asking to be paid for their products, if you don't have a problem paying for products that may or may not work, I'm happy for you, but it does upset me *!!wink!!* Again I guess this is just my **!!2cents!!** and your mileage may vary *!twisted!*

My dealer would investigate and after he has a clue what is wrong he will give me an estimate about the time he will need to fix it. While he is investigating I will not stand behind him and verbally bash his intentions or skills.

Hold on Cardinal51. Not all car dealers are honest. Not to get too far off topic but I had to have some work done on my car which had two months left on the warranty. Because the problem was intermittent (but dangerous) they did not find the issue for two months and one week.

The car was no longer under warranty, I had to pay full price for the repair. Here's the clincher. I felt I was being ripped off. It was how I was treated by the mechanic, and the people who worked with the warranty. I looked for a new mechanic. Guess what he told me. I described the problem and the work done on the car and he tells me that it was a known issue. Just for grins I went to another mechanic, same deal.

We are talking about integrity. I am glad RCS pulled the product off the shelves. I hate to admit it but where I work we had to do the same for our software a couple times. Its costly, and hurts our reputation, but people will lawyer up for it. They paid for something, and didn't get what they paid for. I am not saying that RCS is being dishonest, or is pulling a sly one on us. I believe they are trying to fix the problem.

ummm.. hate throwing fuel on a fire.. As of this time, RSC has given us no communications as you would expect from your car dealer.. They are calling us "the few" having problems, and there is no estimate on completion. Now, what gets me the most here, is, the update was not voluntary.. It took something that worked perfectly for my personal needs and if it hadnt been for backups it would be destroyed.. Mind you, I only have a license to use the product, but, i paid for a license to use a working product backed up by a rather large named software company.. They do not have any more right to simply take my money and deliver nothing, than the snake oil dealers of the old west had. As for bashing?? I havent been bashing. But i did spend two and a half days running endless tezsts to attempt to discover the issue and provide data to the good folks here AND at RSC ( I only worked in the computer industry as an administrator for 35 years, but i think that might give me some qualifications.. ) I'm not bashing, but i want it solved, and yes, people have a right to be ticked and express their anger in a civilized manner such as they have done here.. If someone isnt accepting and understanding that that anger will be expressed then I dont believe they should even read the thread. Otherwise, keep testing, keep digging and lets get to the root of the problem.. We all want it fixed..

It's not bad enough that the Dash9 doesn't work, they have to taunt us on the launch screen...

Hopefully they're working on a new Dash9 pack! !*don-know!*

Something to think about.

They pulled the pack to clear it out of Steam's system, so they can enter it again fresh.

Yes, I am being positive about all this.

Well, what confuses me Doc, is that, if the files were meant to be deleted, why are they listed in the manifest to begin with?? I find that very confusing as its like listing the temp files as being a permanent part of the install..

It's more than a few that have problems with Dash 9's. I want to lob a grenade down the cable line but I'm all out. So I'll just sit here and stew for a while. **!!bang!!**
