And, it seems, little performance hit, because they're using non shadow casting light sources for overhead lights! Smart move.

I just got the update here. Haven't tested it out though, I'm hunting down some stuff that inevitably got replaced.

Yeah! !*brav*! no issues so far! !!*ok*!! I just reinstalled with 2-Clikz (3 minutes to go) !*YAAA*! about 250 mods (including some routes) almost 5GB size and all running fine, in this concern! *!twisted!* Countless hours saved, and (is even better) with no headache!

awesome!

Just ran NEC - Early Clocker and will post the results. I hope snowstorm is still around to work his magic. There is a slight improvement in fps.

In BSB I didn't noticed any remarkable improvement in fps. Some poles and cables (entering the ground, which were odd ever) are gone. I'm feeling is now worse the moirè effect (I guess this is the name, that swirl waveform on junctions) and some weird shadows from raised ballasts. Sky now have clouds but is blue even at the dusk and dawn (tested and compared 4 beauty scenarios, and all of them lost that orange-wish color effect, what a pitty!), probably they changed ToD and for sure some Weathers. Looks like texture of rocks are a bit better now.

I can see this as well.

I will need to check mine. It did not strike me as being different, but then I again, I was in the cab and not really flying around.

(knocking on wood) With the exception of those that got their files crossed, I would have to say that this update went better than the last. I hope RCS does do something with the Steam workshop, and if so I hope that means we can share modifications on RSC routes (I have DP in mind).

Wow nice improvments. Love the new draw distance. You will notice all the new buildings and houses they placed are way off in the backgrounds so you can see the new distance affect. *!!thnx!!* !*brav*!

I finally got it working, but despite my backup it reverted all my engine mods (mainly sounds). I'm still not exactly sure how to use the batch file Machinist made, so I guess I'll fix it all by hand. !*roll-laugh*!

It was a flawless download. I've never seen the San Gabreials look so clean. In fact all facets of detail are clean and sharp. I ran one of my San Bar scenarios, one that included all of my third party rolling stock addon's and nothing was missing. I did not have to fix a thing. Just for S&G's I ran the Thomas-Otto Barstow West Colten. Now it took a while to load I will admit. However once it started it ran quite well. To all the "Kool Aid" drinkers out there, I think RSC got this one right.

Yes, the update seemed to download and install flawlessly and other than having to reset all of my air brake settings and sound updates it appears the update did no harm. I do have one question, why after several DLC routes and updates to the default routes do we still have airport runway roads?

Screenshot BSB Road.jpg

In the above screen shot we see the default 2 lane road on the left and a scale sized road on the right. Yes I know I can manually replace all of the default roads with scale roads, but in the next update they would be replaced by the over sized defaults. Sure I can make a copy of the default BSB route, but in the next update my copy would not receive the next new thing that would be installed in the update. I realize RSC is trying to improve the product, but lets face it, we can have the best looking distant mountains and skies of any train simulator currently available, but once you run across a two lane road that looks like a airport runway, the illusion is lost. Just my **!!2cents!!** and your mileage may vary *!!wink!!*

As they say in television, here's the "film at eleven":

!*hp*! . . . !*not-ok*! . . . !!bang!! . . . *!rolleyes!* . . . !*don-know!* . . . **!!bang!!** . . . *!embar*! . . . !*cheers*! . . . ----

followed by totally predictable alternate endings 1) !!*ok*!! and 2) !*not-ok*!

At least this is my view from Italy, where my beloved pre-historic computer groans a bit when I ask it to open Solitaire. I won't see the results of this upgrade until late October, so, believe it or doubt it, I'm witholding judgment until then. You folks can't even imagine how ridiculously funny this thread looks from my point of view.

Just 2 final comments: 1) how's about some screenshots from BSB and O-P? 2) thanks to RSC for continuing to upgrade RW without cost and for putting up with all the undeserved flak ... but why don't they realize that they should just farm out all future changes to Otto?
