No, we go way back. Don't worry and don't pour oil on the fire.

Can you be a bit more specific? I have been quite pleased and have run it around a lot.

I can send you a few renders of one of mine as a "like for like" comparison if you're ( seriously ) interested in why perceptions differ ...

Yes it is. Works great even you can't afford the "Actual" Raildriver, you can drive it using 2 throttles. I've been having so much fun.

It's a great piece of hardware, but I often don't use mine because I don't have a lot of room to set it up and move my computer quite often. If I use any controllers other than the standard mouse and keyboard, I generally use my xbox controller with force feedback.

I'm SO getting those as soon as I can.
I'll just slap them on their sides and make more realistic handles.

I havn't said a single word about how great the other sim is, so keep your belts on because theres a line to the bathroom. If you want to know how things really are at theothersim, PM me because I'm not doing it publicly. Otherwise I suggest everybody, newb, regular, veteran, admin even, I dont care who you are but just keep it civil. Not everybody is up to no good. I deal with plenty of BS on the other side of the community too.

Anyway, as I was saying. I noticed the Marias Pass ES44 is going to be a DC. I wonder if the amps will load differently.

The ES44 amps seem different. When throttling down to lower notches the amps and revs don't instantly reduce but have a nice spool down effect. Have no idea if this is accurate but feels better, Cannot recall offhand if the Sherman Hill ones do this - must check.

I like mine too. The SD45 won't throttle up with it though. My only overall issue with it is it can sometimes suffer from what appears to be thermal drift in the analog potentiometers. I've left it in one position on the throttle and over time I've seen it either lower the throttle or increase it a little for no reason. Usually it lowers it.

I've also had times where the throttle curve dives in mid-throttle and rises again as I go higher. Kinda like a throttle curve valley. But that only happens once in a blue moon for no explained reason. Not sure if that's the RailDriver or an issue on the sim side. I've also had times where my throttle and brakes don't respond at all. If I remember correctly, pressing pause and then un-pausing seems to fix this. I'm guessing that's on the computer side on that one. Just weird! !*don-know!*
EMD 2-strokes rule! My all time favorite: SD45X also love the SD40-2/SD40T-2/SD45-2/SD45T-2/DD35A/DDA40X/SD70ACe/SD80ACe
