Matter of time indeed my friend..

Got about an hour left.. Already looking at these F40PH textures.. What's the deal with the Alpha channel on these Derek? It's all pixelated in Photoshop.. You're killing me already. Alpha channel was my blank template shortcut!!! You're going to actually make me reverse engineer textures again! !*roll-laugh*!

As long as I save in ace and export in the Blueprint editor I don't need to do any voodoo black magic for this work in the game do I?

Thanks to anyone else that welcomed me back.. I've been kind of multitasking here getting things in check.

Thanks! Waiting for this download to finish.. No one repainted the F40PH at all? Really? It's a classic and I see zero repaints.. Travesty..

Well. If anything I'll have a set of blanks.. By the time this download finishes. *!lol!*

Welcome back!
Well, if you insist, a Via Rail F40PH would be great!

Also if you want to actually play the sim and have a great time, get the new Alco RS11 (see the threads and screenshots here).

So..

TS2013 is making my Steam client crash.. I've been able to run the game twice and now every time I try launching it just stays stuck at "Preparing to Launch" , then the client freezes and I get the Steam is not responding Windows dialog and have to force close Steam. I've tried running Steam in compatibility mode, as an administrator.. Nodda. I've been using Steam every day since I dropped this game without issue.. Why is this thing making it completely unstable?

Not sure Bill, but for the last 2 months or so. I have to start Steam twice in order to play. The first time it just sits there. Second time it fires right up. Several friends have been experienceing the same thing and changin servers makes no difference. Then if an update is coming, the whole library interface freezes with the spinning cursor and dings if I try clicking anywhere. After 5 to 8 minutes, it is back and whatever was downloading is usually done by then. Both times I inquired about it to Steam support they had me delete the STeam folder and redownload and install it. That of course did nothing to help the situation. I don't ask them for any help anymore. If the cursor starts spinning I go take a shower or play with my cats.

Hmm, I don't think I'm on a super fast connection, Railworks is the only Steam game I have and I am not seeing any of these issues. Mine starts in 30 seconds or less unless there is a up date which comes in at about 1.5 megs I think and usually takes well less than a minute and then a start up of maybe 30-45 seconds. I'll time all this stuff out tonight and report back.

I can launch any of my Steam games fine. Sleeping Dogs, GTA 4, Assassins Creed.. Soon as I touch TS 2013 Steam freezes and I need to force close the entire client. I tried running Railworks directly from the directory and it just launches to an all black screen.

Will verify cache and if that doesn't work I'll just delete it and pretend I never tried because while I have all the time in the world to deal with this.. I shouldn't have to.

I have 97 Steam games installed. Are you getting at that might be the problem? Buzz?

I was reading up on windows 8 and it did say that It can cause compadibility issues with games that were created for windows 7 and earlier due to the major changes in 8. this could possibly be one of the games that has some sorta issue with 8?
