From Just Trains FAQ:

Q: What's the difference between a 'legacy owned' copy of Train Simulator 2013 and a Train Simulator 2013 "new owners" version?
A: The 'new owner' version of Train Simulator 2013 will not include several of the legacy owned items in it such as the following routes:

•Newcastle-York
•Bath-Templecombe
•Hagen-Seigen
•Oxford-Paddington
•Barstow-San Bernadino
We have no firm information of what/if any rolling stock will be removed.

We are told that these legacy items will be available via STEAM but have no further details.

The default routes included in Train Simulator 2013 will be these as far as we are aware:

•Sherman Hill
•London to Brighton
•Northeast Corridor
•Isle of Wight
We have no firm information of what locomotives or rolling stock will be included.

Please note that there may well be different versions of Train Simulator 2013 sold with varying content in different locations around the world. We have no information on this.

Obviously. JustTrains doesn't know any more than the information that RSC has made public. However, I will say again that, although it took them a while, RSC has now made what will happen on Sept. 20 quite clear.

As far as what happens for existing users on the 20th, I agree it is clear, so from a personal point of view I am fine. What is not at all clear to me (or to Just Trains by the look of it) is what is happening to the 'legacy' locos and rolling stock (eg the Deltic, HST, Black 5 and so on) for new users - will these still be part of the core, or part of the free assets packs, or part of the appropriate payware legacy routes packs? If this has been answered anywhere I would be interested to know.

The other thing that is clear, but if correct, completely perverse and in many ways a bit of a con is the contents of the Deluxe package, which you would have naively expected to contain all the contents of the Standard edition plus some extras (a la MS FSX). However, anyone buying the Deluxe package as a new user only gets the London-Brighton, Sherman Hill and Munich-Augsburg routes for £29.99 (in the UK) - but - if they had dug a bit further they would have found that buying the 'Standard' pack for £19.99 and then getting Munich-Augsburg for £10 would cost them exactly the same, but give them 2 extra routes. This seems a very odd (or sneaky depending on how you look at it) way of arranging things.

Thanks for the tip off Nigel, I actually thought that by buying the deluxe package that i would be getting everything featured in the standard pack plus the Munich route, also, hopefully you can clarify for me, is ice3 going to be a included with the Munich pack? I am getting either conflicting information in forums or i'm just slowly going mental and starting to see things im not seeing haha. *!greengrin!*

Based on the Railsimulator.com website post I would interpret what it says there is that the standard is a preorder item only as it includes 2 DLC routes and the deluxe which is just the normal game as RSC has named all the previous versions Deluxe versions. So not sneaky I'm guessing its just a way of bringing in early revenue and placation existing users who feel a bit slighted. **!!2cents!!** In fact that is what the Steam store page lists that the standard is a special that will not be available after the 20th. heck Isle of wight is $29.99, NEC is $39.99, and some of the locos in 2013 are around $15 each.

During the Pod cast it was stated that TS2013 will remain dual core max for the foreseeable future due to the difficulty in implementing quad core utilization. But they did not mention the part I wished to know about which is Physx on the GPU. !*don-know!*

If one already has 2012 and anyone, like me, is only interested in the Sherman Hill route why buy anything. I would think they will offer it as a add on shortly for something less than the cost of 2013. Am I missing something here?

No, except for special prices.
TS2013 is initially offered at a reduced price that is probably less than the regular price of Sherman Hill.
On the other hand, you can just wait for a sale and get SH even cheaper.

I agree with Buzz and Glenn, The only new route I'm interested in is the Sherman Hill route, everything else will be a free update for TS2012 users. Because of the Donner Pass route fiasco, which by the way still has not been updated and / or fixed, I think I'll wait for the reviews of the Sherman Hill route after this Thursdays release before purchasing it as a separate DLC. Also does anyone else find it ironic and a little funny that at the bottom of the Steam pre-order page Steam recommends the Trainz simulator and a couple of add-on's for the Trainz simulator !**duh*!! !*roll-laugh*!

Patience seems to be a key. I wait for all you folks to comment before I buy or for that matter try most of the freeware. If there are all sorts of problems then I wait. I want to thank all of you who can't wait. You are the Beta testers for the world............ !*roll-laugh*! !!*ok*!! !*YAAA*!
