Pam:

It's very confusing. It seems that all of us have a different set of folders. If you look back you will see that I have the 6936, type 01 and type 02. I don't know what the difference is. The only one used in the 3 scenarios that came with it is the 6936. Krellnut has the old version which does not have the 6936. I think the new version is the 6936 and the others are just left over from the original or V1.
That's about all I know. Someone who is into making their own scenarios may be able to say if they all are workable.

I released a freeware enhancement for DD40X here on RWA Library, including two freeroam scenarios with the three types of liveries parked at the "yard" ready to ride. *!!wink!!*

In this thread there is also more information about the versions (DTM and Steam) and the link to the enhancement pack:

Cheers,
Doc.

Doc:

You always amaze me with what you know and do. I had to print out that whole thread so I can read it at my leisure. I will also download your scenarios from the library.

Thanks

That's because Steam didn't originally sell it. Cesar gave all of us that bought from DTM a free upgrade. At the same time, he made three additional models for RSC that were distributed thru Steam. I have them all. !!*ok*!!

So, has anyone gotten this to work with the free update??
I downloaded it and installed the files which gave me three extra directories. I then went into the type01 directory and copied the cabview and all the engine files over to my original "model" directory; moving the files into the respective engine directories i have for RIRR and CSX. I renamed the bin files accordingly and started up the sim, and,, nothing.. the engines were gone from the sim and the new installs were of course unselectable as i havent purchased the rsc release and those directories are mostly empty..
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any success with this??
Thanks..

Which free update, Pam? The one from Cesar (which works fine) or the big game update that RSC just did? They all work fine for me. I like the new scenarios that RSC included. You have done all the usual stuff, verify and clear blueprint?

Hi Chris. it would have been the one from Cesar..
You see, I love the centenials, but i cant stand UP or its paint jobs. SO, I painted two seperate centenials, one in CSX hockey puck and the other in Rock Island. my two favorite lines.. Copying over those liveries to the new type01 is not an option because the texture mapping is completely different than on the original, and repainting that beast is a bit more involved than i'm willing to get at the moment as my normal life is rather insane.. I guess what i'd like to get is functioning headlights and interior lights on the original dda40x but i've got a real sneaky feeling that it just isnt gonna be able to be done..

Doc (Trains and Drivers) has a fantastic enhancement for the DD40X with lighting. As for a reskin, I'm not the one to ask. I can't reskin a cat, let alone a train. And, I think, doing a DD40X is gonna be difficult at best. Body is like no other engine. It's just a beast. But, Cesar or Mad Mike may have some ideas.

Best to send an e mail to Cesar (Lord Mannu, Digital Train Models) nice guy, he can help out. Or to Doc Lisboa, (Trains and Drivers, if it's the enhancement pack)

Hi Pam, my DD40X enhancement is a freeware hosted here on RWA Library, but it was done for Steam version. I even don't have (never had) the original DTM version, but I guess Type01 basic model may be the same, if so I guess is possible to add to your repaints the same lighting features of Steam Type01. All you need to do is re-make your re-paint engine.bin over the current Type01 engine.bin, I mean cloning and changing accordingly the path within the bin to match the re-paint folder textures etc. as usual when re-painting. Give a try *!!wink!!*

Cheers,
Doc.

Thanks doc.. I hadnt actually thought of doing anything with the bin file. I guess senility took over somewhere.. I know that the type01 model uses different texture mapping but just maybe it'll work. If not, perhaps if i ask kindly enough, RSC or Cesar would find it in their hearts to release either a paint kit, or the uv maps they used to make the liveries..
