I was going to mention that thread.
It is easy to connect routes via scenarios, if the start state of your scenario is the same as the end state of the other scenario.
You have to replicate (more or less closely) a small part of the other route in your own.
Obviously if the other scenario end with a consist pulling into a yard, yours must start with the same consist in the same yard.
You don't have to copy the other route too closely: few people will remember the exact disposition of buildings and scenery.

I think it would be great if route modelers started extending RSC's routes this way.
It would benefit all players whether or not they have bought the RSC routes.

OK, so let me get this straight. When (note I did not say IF) we finish all our respective routes, we could travel from the Bay Area, across Donner, on through to Sparks, and over the Feather River? Even if we don't physicaly connect them we could as use an idea like this, and we would have one of the longest routes in in RW ever.

You sir, have yet to meet a rivet counter !!det!!

If anything this thread has inspired me to work faster on getting my route into a beta state (end of the year?).

I don't know if this idea would help anyone else, but one thing I was considering doing was building a major hub city as its own route (in my case, Richmond, Virginia), then cloning it to work as a start location for the various routes that extend away from it.

If it's possible to delete parts of a route, you could even make a clone, scrap all of the route but the starting city, and then start the new route from there. (Admittedly, I've never tried deleting on a large scale before, so I have no idea if that's possible.)

And here's another yes vote pouring in! Connecting routes through add-on routes/scenarios sounds very good, as long as it can be done without becoming too cumbersome for the developers.

Hi! Thanks, everyone for the support. The work I'm doing now is very tedious and boring, but I hope to get the scenicing from Reno to Truckee finished. However, regardless as to how much work is completed, the next release will be around the 20th of Dec. Cheers; Chuck F.
